The story began here, Tengchong, also known as Tengyue. It was once a unique stone city in China. The city walls were made of huge stones, and the city was described as " Amber Archway Jade Bridge." Because Tengchong was located at the center of the southern Silk Road, its culture and business travel were exceptionally developed, and because more than 90% of the world’s jade gathered here, Tengchong was also known as the "City of Jade". During World War II, Tengchong became the only foreign aid channel in China, the flank support point of the Yunnan-Myanmar Road. The strategic position was very important. The Japanese army took Tengchong as a strategic high ground and sent heavy troops to defend Tengchong. In order to reverse this situation, the Chinese government of the Chinese National Party established the Chinese Expeditionary Force. One part of the Expeditionary Force went deep into Myanmar and the other part defended Yunnan to jointly attack the Japanese invaders. In May 1942, with the defeat of the Chinese expeditionary army in Myanmar, the Japanese army broke into Yunnan.
