On Friday, Ron finally found his way to the dining hall, and for the first time, Harry had his breakfast on time.

Hundreds of owls screeched into the hall and hovered over the tables until they spotted their owners and dropped letters and packages onto their laps.

Hedwig had also brought Harry a parcel, and Harry fed her a loaf of bread and opened it to see the latest revision of Powerful Potions, which he had asked Tom to buy at Flourish and Blotts two days ago. He took out a piece of parchment and wrote a letter to Tom, thanking him for helping him buy the book. At the same time, he warned him to pay attention to his health and not drink so much wine. He tied the letter to Hedwig's foot and said gently,""Go get some rest and send the letter to Tom in the afternoon.”

Hedwig rubbed herself against Harry's hand and flapped away.

Ron leaned over, looked at the book in Harry's hand, and said, rather gloomily,"You read this kind of book? Do you think the textbooks are not thick enough?"

Harry smiled and said,"Just looking-Potions today?”

said Ron grimly,"With Slytherin. According to George, Snape was very biased, very strict with Gryffindor, and often found fault with taking points.”

Harry was about to speak when an owl flew over, dropped him a note, and began to bounce around the table. Harry stuffed a piece of toast into his mouth and opened it.

"Dear Harry,

I know you're off this Friday afternoon, so I'd like to invite you here for a cup of tea with me at three o'clock. I'd like to hear about your week-I've heard a lot about you from the professors, I'm so proud of you. Let the owl bring me the answer.

Hagrid."

Harry picked up his pen and wrote on the back,"Great, see you then!"”,He let the restless owl take the note away.

――――――――――――――――――

The Potions classroom was a cold and dark basement. There were many cabinets inside, and on them were all kinds of strange materials used to make potions. There were also some glass jars soaked in animal carcasses.

Tilting his head away from the nauseating jars, Harry heard Neville's teeth clattering and took his cold, trembling left hand. Neville looked at him gratefully and thanked him.

Snape gave them a cold glance and began to call names in a cold voice.

He paused at Harry's name.

"Oh yes," he whispered. Potter, this is our new, famous man.”

Harry got to his feet, heard the Slytherins snigger, watched nervously as Snape bowed and sat down carefully.

Neville patted his hand and looked at him anxiously. He pouted and shook his head to indicate that he was fine.

Snape finished counting and looked up at the class. His eyes were empty and cold, as deep as the night.

"You have come here to learn the precise science and rigorous craftsmanship of potion concoction.”he began, in a low voice."There are no foolish wand-waving here, so many of you won't believe it's magic. I do not expect you to truly understand the beauty of the white smoke and the sweet scent of the simmering cauldron, nor the magical power of the liquid that flows into the veins of men, that makes the heart flutter and the mind blur... I can teach you how to improve your reputation, brew your honor, even prevent death-but only if you are not the fools I often meet.”

Harry sighed in his heart. He also liked Potions very much, but Snape's tone was really annoying. He wondered how Snape would have treated him if he had been assigned to Slytherin.

"Potter-"

He was here.

"What will I get if I add the narcissus root powder into the wormwood extract?”

Harry stood up and said respectfully,"It produces a very potent sleeping potion, Professor.”

Snape looked at him in surprise, and Hermione dropped her raised arm, looking disappointed.

"If I asked you to find me a bezoar, where would you go?”

"From the cow's stomach, Professor,"

……

Snape asked seven or eight questions from One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi, and Harry answered them fluently without hesitation. The students could see that the professor was deliberately making things difficult for Harry, but it was clearly not working. Snape's face darkened, Gryffindor's eyes shone with anticipation and pride, and even some of the Slytherins looked impressed.

"Mashed Sacred Beetle, cut ginger root, armadillo bile, what kind of potion can these ingredients make?”

Harry was about to answer when he suddenly remembered that this was already senior knowledge, so he looked innocently at Snape and said weakly,"I'm sorry, Professor, I don't know."”

Snape's eyes flashed with pride as he finally stumped Harry. He said nothing more and waved him to sit down.

Ehhh! Harry found it incredible that he hadn't taken the opportunity to deduct Gryffindor's points.!

Next, the students were divided into pairs and, under Snape's guidance, concocted a simple potion for scabies. Snape dragged his long black cloak up and down the room, watching them weigh dried nettles and crush snake fangs, and almost all the students were reprimanded except Malfoy and Harry. He had shown everyone how perfectly Malfoy had steamed the horned slugs, and had given Slytherin five points for it. Gryffindor was furious, but he did not dare to express his displeasure openly, and only began to make more noise.

Harry was still wondering about Snape's attitude. Though it was hard to tell from his face, and he was constantly making trouble for the students, he was walking briskly and clearly in a good mood, which confused Harry. Could it be that he was happy that there was a Potionology genius among his students? Even if that student was a Gryffindor? The James he hated the most? Potter's son?

He was absent-mindedly making potions when he came back to his senses and saw Neville, who was in the same group as him, throw a handful of porcupine thorns into the cauldron. Startled, Harry quickly pulled out his wand and said,"Wingardim Leviosa-"

The porcupine spike floated into the air a second before it touched the potion.

Neville gaped at Harry, who looked at him helplessly and said,"Neville-take the cauldron away from the fire before you put in the porcupine's thorns, or it'll burn through.”

Harry's voice rang out loud and clear in the silence.

Realizing what he had just done, Harry put the cauldron down without a change in expression. The porcupine spike fell into the pot, billowing a silver-green mist.

He smiled in satisfaction. Seeing that the people around him were still staring at him, he shrunk his neck and asked with a puzzled expression,"Is there something wrong?"

Snape narrowed his eyes and said coldly,"What are you all waiting for? Are you done with the potion?"

The students lowered their heads and continued their work, occasionally stealing glances of amazement at Harry.

Seeing that the potion was complete, Harry sat down and began to flip through his book.

Neville, who had just recovered, sat down beside Harry excitedly and whispered,"Harry-when did you learn the Levitation Charm?”

Harry said,"It's in The Standard Book of Spells, Beginner.”

Neville remembered that Harry spent most of his time in the library and spent most of his nights in the lounge before returning to his dormitory, and began to lament,"You're usually so hardworking. No wonder your grades are so good. Harry-"

Harry's hair stood on end at his soft drawl. He looked at him warily and asked,"What do you want?"

"Teach me-" Neville looked at him eagerly, and Harry could almost see his tail wagging behind him."I want to learn-"

"You've learned everything Professor Flitwick taught you?”Harry asked, knowing the answer.

"I don't know how to." Neville's face fell as he said unwillingly.

Harry laughed and said,"Well, we'll practice together next time.”

Neville nodded happily.

After the lesson, Ron jumped up to them, his eyes shining, and said,"Harry-that Levitation Charm you just did was so cool!”

Harry scratched his head and said,"It's nothing.”

Gryffindors passed him, one smiling and giving him a thumbs-up every now and then.

They left the cellar, and Harry stretched happily in the sun.

Ron, seeing that Professor Snape and the Slytherins had gone far away, said,"Have you noticed that Professor Snape seems to have been targeting you?”

Neville looked indignant."Yeah, Harry, he didn't give you a penny for what you did.”

Harry shrugged and said nonchalantly,"Aren't you guys thinking too much? Professor Snape was just particularly strict. Let's not talk about this. I'm so hungry!”

Ron rummaged in his pocket, pulled out a piece of chocolate, shoved it into his hand, and said,"It's almost time to eat. Who asked you to eat so little in the morning?”

Harry stuffed the chocolate into his mouth and mumbled,"Yes, it's delicious. I was full this morning, but now I'm hungry again!”

Ron watched him gobble down the food with a dark expression, while Neville snickered.
