role
God
The God of Creation, Eruvat
In the Absolute Beginning, the God of Creation, Eruvat, created the entire world. He had 15 gods and many apostles under him. Together, they maintained the operation of the world and protected the reproduction and survival of species such as elves, dwarves, and humans. Later, we would find that some apostles were far more important than gods in the story.
demon
Dark God Myrtle
The God in charge of darkness was called Melko. Because he had more power than the other gods, he gradually rebelled. Melko had launched two rebellions, both of which were defeated by the allied forces of elves and humans. Melko himself had his legs cut off and was locked in the Eternal Abyss. The story of the Lord of the Rings trilogy began here.
Demon Sauron
He used to be an apostle and was familiar with architecture and casting. Later, he was tempted by Melko to become his disciple. After Melko's defeat, Soran's identity was not exposed. He disguised himself as a stranger and asked the elves to forge 19 Lord of the Rings for him and give them to different races. He also secretly forged a powerful "Lord of the Rings" outside of the 19 in an attempt to control the other races. The only way to destroy the Lord of the Rings was to throw it back into the fire that had created it.
Soran's ambition prompted the people of Middle-earth to unite again to fight against evil. This was the scene of the war at the beginning of the first film. The result of the war was Soran's defeat. However, the Lord of the Rings remained in the world, constantly tempting the world and patiently waiting for Soran to resurrect.
apostles
- Saruman the Magician
He was originally an apostle and the master of the magic tower, Ishangard. Later, he was controlled by Soran while practicing magic. His scenes in the movie only lasted until the end of The Twin Towers, when Isengard was defeated by the tree spirit. In fact, in the original novel, he later escaped imprisonment and once led the army to capture Frodo's hometown, the Shire. After the victory of the coalition of justice, Saruman was expelled and killed by his subordinate, the "rapper"(the sycophantic minister beside King Silden in The Twin Towers).
Gandalf the Magician
He was originally an apostle, and his specific deeds were ominous.
However, he always influenced the course of events at critical moments, and he was the embodiment of justice against evil.
elves
Elves would never grow old or die of illness, but fire and weapons could kill them, and they themselves would die of grief.
The elven world had moved and split up several times, and its lineage was extremely complicated.
1. Waterswamp Fairy. They lived in the Lothlorien Forest, ruled by Elven Queen Grandril (Cate Blanchett) and her husband, Selleburn (Marton Xorkas).
2. Mountain Elves. This was the sprite that appeared the most in the movie. Including Elven King Elon (played by Hugo Weaving, the Smith with thousands of clones in the Matrix) and Elven Princess Ivan (played by Liv Tyler). In The Lord of the Rings Appears, the meeting to establish the Fellowship of the Ring was held in their castle, Livendare.
3. Jungle Elves. The profile of this elf was barely mentioned in the movie, but the most appealing idol star in the Lord of the Rings movie was born in his family, the archer Legolas (Orlando Bloom).
dwarves
The race created by the gods to resist Marko. Therefore, they were strong, hardworking, determined, and unswayed. However, these dwarves also had shortcomings such as being irritable and simple-minded. In the film, these characteristics were fully reflected in the only dwarf protagonist, Gimli (John Reiss Davis).
human
At the beginning of The Lord of the Rings, Prince Isildur cut off Soran's finger with a broken sword after his father died in battle and seized the Lord of the Rings. However, he was soon tempted to death by the Lord of the Rings. From then on, the human world declined. Part of it became ruins, while the other part gradually formed two kingdoms:
1. Rohan Kingdom. One of the ancient kingdoms in the human world. It was ruled by the King of Silden (Bernard Hill). Princess Iowen (Miranda Otto) was his daughter. The second half of "The Twin Towers" was almost entirely set in the Kingdom of Rohan.
2. Gondor Kingdom. It was originally the kingdom of Isildur. After his death, it was ruled by a hereditary regent. In The Return of the King, Denethor, who was controlled by Sauron and refused to send troops to fight, was the last regent. He had two sons, Boromir, who was shot to death by arrows at the end of The Lord of the Rings, and Faramore, who captured Gollum in The Two Towers.
Aragon's ancestor, Anarion, was Isildur's brother and the co-ruler of Gondor. In other words, Aragorn was the only heir to the Kingdom of Gondor.
The Hobbit
They were a group of dwarves who were only half the height of ordinary people. They never wore shoes and had long hair on their feet. They were cheerful and loved to eat. They ate six meals a day.
Erbo Baggins accidentally discovered the Lord of the Rings in the Guru's Cave, which was the beginning of the Lord of the Rings 'transfer to the Shire. In The Lord of the Rings, it was transferred to Bilbo's nephew Frodo Baggins. Tom, Meryl, and Pippin joined the Fellowship of the Ring with Frodo, and the story of the trilogy began.
The Hobbits were also one of the long-lived races in the story. The young Frodo in the movie was actually 50 years old in the original novel.
orcs
'Half-orcs' were a new breed that Saruman had created by mixing female monsters with humans. They were only loyal to Saruman himself and hated sunlight. Therefore, at the critical moment of the Battle of Helm's Deep in The Twin Towers, Gandalf used his staff to light up a huge light, and the female monster army was completely defeated.
Gollum
The first was a Hobbit, whose original name was Smiug. After he and a friend discovered the Lord of the Rings in the river, he killed his friend in order to monopolize the Lord of the Rings. His body was gradually changing under the erosion of the Lord of the Rings.
