In the days that followed, Bunce and the others found Harry scurrying away whenever he saw Gilderoy Lockhart coming down the corridor. But even harder to avoid was Colin Creevey, who seemed to have memorized Harry's schedule. It seemed to Colin that the most exciting thing in the world was to say "Hello, Harry?" six or seven times a day.”And heard "Hello, Colin." no matter how exasperated and exasperated Harry's tone was. (Star chasers are scary)
Ron's wand was still out of the ordinary, even more so on Friday morning. It flew out of Ron's hand during Charms and struck short Professor Flitwick between the eyebrows. There was a green bump there, and it was jumping.
"What's the matter?" Bangs asked, trying hard to open his eyes.
"Get up, Harry's got Quidditch practice, he's left us a note, let's go check it out.”said Ron excitedly.
"It's not a competition, why are you so excited?”Bangs yawned.
"You can go and watch it even if it's not a match. It's Saturday today, so you can visit Hagrid later.”urged Ron, getting dressed.
"Alright then." said Bunce reluctantly.
Bons and Hermione dawdled, and Ron pulled them passionately into the stands on the Quidditch field with bread and jam.
"You haven't started yet?" said Ron incredulously.
"Yeah, Wood told us about the new tactics.”said Harry, sitting on his broom.
"What are they doing? Why did you stop?" said Ron, puzzled.
"Because of that." Bangs said, pointing with his bare hand.
"That's Slytherin?" said Ron in disgust.
"Let's go and see what's going on.”said Hermione, throwing away the rest of the bread and jam.
"My favorite strawberry jam." Bons shouted.
"Forget about the jam. Go and see what happened.”said Ron.
" Oh, look," Flint said." Someone broke into the stadium.”
Bunce, Ron, and Hermione came over the lawn to see what was going on.
"What's wrong?" Ron asked Harry. What is he doing here?"
Ron stared in amazement at Malfoy, who was putting on his Slytherin Quidditch uniform.
"I'm the new Seeker for the Slytherin team, Weasley," said Malfoy smugly."Everyone was admiring the brooms my dad bought for our team.”
Ron gaped at the seven high-quality brooms in front of him.
"When are you going to learn your lesson, Malfoy?”said Bunce, standing beside Harry.
"What is it? It's you again. Sooner or later, I'll let you know how powerful I am.”said Malfoy, looking around.
"Don't think that you're great just because you spent some money to join the team.”Bangs said slowly.
"You." said Malfoy, his face a deep shade of pig liver.
"What are you trying to say? Tell me, you don't have much time.”Bance said.
"Our new brooms are nice, aren't they?”Malfoy regained his composure and changed the subject."But maybe the Gryffindors can get some gold to buy some new brooms, too. You can go around the streets collecting money.”
Slater Company roared with laughter.
"At least none of the Gryffindors had to pay to get in," said Hermione sharply."They got in on merit.”
Malfoy's face, which had just recovered, darkened again.
"Nobody asked you, you smelly little Mudblood.”he said fiercely.
Flint moved in front of Malfoy to stop Fred and George from lunging at him. Ally screamed,"How can you rush me!”Ron reached into his robes to pull his wand out, but Bunce held him back. Bunce pulled out his wand and said softly,"You'll pay for what you said, Malfoy!”
A streak of red light struck Malfoy from under Flint's shoulder, and Malfoy fell to the ground with a thud.
"He's been knocked unconscious, how dare you?”Flint said.
"This is the price I have to pay.”Bangs turned around and said.
"Where are you going?" said Ron.
"Hagrid, aren't you coming?" Bance said.
"Wait for us." said Harry, catching up.
When they were only twenty paces from Hagrid's cabin, the door opened, but it was not Hagrid who came out, but Gilderoy Lockhart, who was dressed today in the lightest of lilac robes.
"Quickly hide." Harry whispered, pulling Ron and Bunce behind the nearest bush. Hermione followed suit, but a little reluctantly.
"If you know how to do it, it's very simple!”Lockhart was calling out to Hagrid."If you need any help, just come to me, you know where I am! I'll give you a copy of my book-I'm surprised you don't have one yet. I'll sign my name and send it over tonight. Alright, goodbye!" He strode towards the castle.
Harry waited until Lockhart was out of sight, then emerged from behind the bushes, went up to Hagrid's door, and knocked urgently.
Hagrid came out at once, looking angry, but beamed when he saw them outside.
"I've been talking about when you're coming to see me-come in, come in-I thought it was that Lockhart guy back.”
Bunce and the others stepped over the threshold into the cabin, where an enormous bed lay in one corner and a fire crackled merrily on the other. Harry had barely settled into his chair when he told Hagrid eagerly about Bunce's spell on Malfoy. Hagrid was a little worried, but Bunce said he knew what he was doing.
Hagrid was busy making tea for them. Fang, his terrier, was drooling on Harry.
"What's Lockhart doing here, Hagrid?”asked Harry.
"Teach me how to keep sirens out of wells," said Hagrid angrily, taking a half-plucked rooster from the well-scrubbed table and setting the teapot down."Like I don't know. He even bragged about how he had exorcised the female ghost. If one of them is true, I'll eat the teapot.”
It was very unlike Hagrid to criticize Hogwarts teachers, and Harry was looking at him in surprise. said Hermione, in a slightly higher voice than usual,"I think you're being a bit unfair, Professor Dumbledore clearly thinks he's the best candidate-"
"The only one," said Hagrid, handing them a plate of toffee."I mean the only one. Finding a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is very difficult these days. People don't really want to do it, they think it's an unlucky job. None of them lasted long. Tell me, why did Bunce curse Malfoy?”asked Hagrid.
"Malfoy swore at Hermione, and it must've been a nasty one, because everyone was furious.”
"Malfoy called her a Mudblood," said Ron."Hagrid, I'd curse him if Bunce hadn't stopped me.”
"Is it true?" he bellowed at Hermione.
"Yes," she said,"but I don't know what it means. Of course, I could tell it was very rude."
"That's the most insulting thing he can think of," said Ron again."Mudbloods are a dirty name for Muggle-born people-people whose parents are non-magical. Some wizards, like the Malfoys, think they're better than others because they're so-called purebloods. In fact, the rest of us all know that it doesn't matter at all. Look at Neville Longbottom-he's a purebred, but he can't even put his cauldron right.”
"They haven't invented the spells Hermione can't do yet!”said Hagrid proudly, and Hermione blushed.
"It's a nasty name," said Ron."It means filthy, inferior blood. They were all crazy. Nowadays, most wizards were of mixed blood. We'd be extinct if we didn't marry Muggles.”
"I don't blame you for cursing Malfoy, Bunce, but you need to be careful of Lucius Malfoy. He might come to the school aggressively and cause trouble for you.”said Hagrid anxiously.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine.”Bangs comforted.
"Harry," said Hagrid, as though he had suddenly thought of something,"I've got a score to settle with you. I heard that you sent me a signed photo. Why didn't I get it?”
"I didn't send any signed photographs," Harry protested vehemently."If Lockhart's still spreading rumors like this-"
But he saw Hagrid smile.
"I was joking," he said, patting Harry on the back so affectionately that Harry's face hit the table."I know you didn't. I told Lockhart you didn't have to do that, you were already more famous than he was without any effort.”
"I bet he wasn't too happy to hear that.”said Harry, sitting up straight and rubbing his chin.
"Not very happy, I suppose," said Hagrid, his eyes glittering."And then I told him I'd never read his books. He decided to take his leave. Want some fudge, Ron?”asked Ron.
"Alright, thank you." said Ron.
"Come and see what I've grown." Hagrid suggested.
In the vegetable field behind the cottage, there were twelve large pumpkins. Bangs had never seen such a big pumpkin, each of which was half the height of a person.
"He looks pretty good, right?" said Hagrid happily."It's for the party at Christmas-it'll be big enough by then.”
"What did you feed them?" said Harry stupidly.
Hagrid looked left and right for anyone.
"Well, I've given them a little-how should I put it, a little help.”
"It's the Expanse Charm, isn't it?" Hermione was a little disapproving, but very amused."Oh, you've done well.”
"Ron's sister said the same thing.”said Hagrid."I saw her yesterday and she said she was just looking around, I think she was hoping to run into someone in the house.”He winked at Harry. "If you ask me, she wouldn't refuse an autograph from Harry-"
"Aiya, don't talk nonsense." said Harry quickly.
"Oh, Hagrid, is your chicken starting to die?”asked Bangs.
"Yeah, two died. I really don't know why.”said Hagrid carelessly.
It was almost lunchtime, so the four of them said goodbye to Hagrid and walked back to the castle together.
As soon as he stepped into the shady foyer, he heard a voice. "Come back, Potter, Weasley," said Professor McGonagall, walking straight toward them.”
"What are we going to do, Professor?" said Ron nervously.
"You go and help Mr. Fulch polish the silver in the trophy room," said Professor McGonagall."No magic, Weasley-all by hand.”
Ron gasped. Fulch, the caretaker, was hated by all the students.
"Potter, go and help Professor Lockhart write back to his admirers.”said Professor McGonagall.
"Ah, no, can I go wipe the prizes too?”Harry begged, looking desperate.
"Of course not," said Professor McGonagall, raising her eyebrows."Professor Lockhart asked for you by name. Remember, 8 PM sharp.”
"And you, Flay. Mr. Malfoy is on his way here in a fit of rage. Please come with me to the Headmaster's office and explain yourself.”said Professor McGonagall, pursing her lips.
"Got it, Professor. Please lead the way.”Bangs said expressionlessly.
At the top they stepped out of the stone staircase, and Professor McGonagall knocked on a door. The door creaked open and they went in. Professor McGonagall told Bangs to wait and left him alone.
Bangs looked around.
It was a spacious, beautiful circular room, filled with all sorts of funny little voices. On the spindly table were a great many strange silver objects, which swirled and blew out little wisps of smoke. The walls were covered with portraits of former headmasters and headmistresses, all of whom were snoring softly in their frames. There was also a huge table in the room with claw-shaped legs.
Just as Bunce was about to look elsewhere in detail, the office door opened and Dumbledore entered, looking very grave, followed by an angry Lucius Malfoy.
"Can you tell me why you cursed Malfoy?”asked Dumbledore kindly as soon as he sat down.
"Because Malfoy insulted Hermione, Professor.”said Bunce, ignoring Mr. Malfoy's angry eyes.
"You poor boy, you put Draco in a coma at the bookshop last time, and now you've cursed Draco, do you really think the Malfoys are that easy to bully?”said Lucius Malfoy angrily.
"Malfoy asked for it. In the end, it's all because of your poor upbringing that we're in this situation today.”Bance said.
"Unreasonable brat, I must teach you a lesson.”Lucius Malfoy drew his wand angrily.
"Lucius, if you dare to harm my students, I will have to stop you myself.”said Dumbledore, smiling.
"Alright!" Lucius Malfoy stared coldly at Dumbledore and said,"Well, I'm not going to let this go.”
"Mark my words, if you don't want people to know, don't do it, Mr. Malfoy.”Bance said.
With the sound of the door closing, Bangs said,""Thank you, Professor Dumbledore.”
"Oh, no, but don't do it again.”said Dumbledore.
"I know. I've actually always wanted to see you.”Bangs said in admiration.
"Oh, why?" said Dumbledore with interest.
"Because of everything you've done." Bance said.
"You seem to know a lot. To be honest, you're not acting like a second year, you know you're acting like a human being.”said Dumbledore, clasping his fingers.
"Who is it? Let me see, Voldemort?" Bangs said calmly.
"That's right. I've been observing you for a long time. You're a very strange person. It's said that you have the bloodline of a prophet. Please forgive me for asking about your background.”said Dumbledore apologetically.
"I am a prophet, I know everything, I know how to defeat Voldemort, I know your future, everyone's future except mine.”Bangs said calmly.
"It's a very magical ability. You're even more mysterious than Sybill.”said Dumbledore admiringly.
"Thank you for the compliment. Actually, even if you know, what can you do? The result of changing it without authorization would be countless variables. Fate was very strange.”Bangs said weakly.
"Then are you willing to help me? I beg you to help me destroy Voldemort.”said Dumbledore pleadingly.
"Even if it costs Harry's life?”Bance said lightly.
"If that's really the case, we can't change it, can we?”said Dumbledore calmly.
"If you agree to my request, I will help you destroy Voldemort.”Bance said.
"Then what should we prepare?" said Dumbledore.
"Not yet, all we have to do now is wait, wait for Voldemort's little trick.”Bangs stood up and said.
"Promise me, don't tell anyone, okay?”said Dumbledore, his eyes wet."I love Harry too, but some things can't be undone, can they?”
"It's not the end yet, is it?”Bance said.
