Bunce had a very pleasant stay at the Weasleys 'house, except for a little noise. (It was mainly because Fred and George were secretly working on something in the room and the ghoul was knocking on the pipe.)
Bunce had just come down for breakfast that morning, and Mrs. Weasley was cooking sausages.
"Ah, you're up?" said Mr. Weasley, sipping his broth.
"Yeah, are you okay?" Bance said.
"Not bad, is Ron still up? He's been getting lazier and lazier recently." said Mr. Weasley, frowning slightly.
"Is this still a holiday?" said Bunce, as Mrs. Weasley distributed cooked sausages onto their plates.
The two of them didn't say anything as they ate the delicious sausages. An owl flew in and threw the newspaper at Mr. Weasley, who dropped his fork and pulled five Knuts out of his pocket. The owl stretched out a leg, and Mr. Weasley dropped the coin into a small pouch tied to its leg. Then it flew out of the open window.
"Good morning, Dad." said Fred, coming down the stairs.
"Good morning, Bunce," George said.
"Oh my god," Mr. Weasley let out a sudden squeak.
"What is it, Arthur?" said Mrs. Weasley in a dissatisfied voice as she approached.
"Look-the latest news-just arrived in the Daily Prophet.”said Mr. Weasley, wiping the sweat off his face.
Bangs quickly leaned his head over and said,"
The famous criminal, Peter Pettigrew, has escaped
Last night, our reporter was informed by the Ministry that Pettigrew had escaped from Azkaban a few days ago and that his whereabouts were unknown. It was worth noting that Sirius Black had been set up by Pettigrew, and that he was the first to escape from Azkaban, which was ironic. The current Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, declined to comment on this matter, and the reporter learned from Ministry sources that the Ministry of Magic was deciding to cast anti-transformation magic in Azkaban to prevent any further escape using transformation.
If you want to pay attention to the latest developments, please continue to buy this newspaper. Thank you.
"What are you looking at?" said Ron curiously, coming over.
"Peter Pettigrew, You-Know-Who's right-hand man, has escaped.”said Mr. Weasley curtly.
"What? Really?" said Ron, shocked.
"See for yourself." said Fred, handing Ron the finished newspaper.
"Take your time, Ron," George said with a smirk.
"Oh, right, I forgot to tell you guys.”said Mr. Weasley excitedly."I've got tickets for the World Cup, thanks to Ludo.”
"Have you written to Harry yet, Ron?”Bangs asked, wiping his mouth.
"Damn it, I forgot about it. I'll go now, Mom.”said Ron, looking into Mrs. Weasley's threatening face.
"What are you doing today, Bunce?”said Mrs. Weasley, clearing the plates on the table.
"I haven't thought about it yet." Bance said.
"Take your time," said Mrs. Weasley kindly.”said Fred.
"Sorry, Fred, and why isn't Ginny down for dinner yet?”asked Mrs. Weasley.
"How would I know? Mom, don't forget that she's your daughter.”said Fred, forking his sausage.
Hermione arrived in the afternoon. She came here by car. It was said that the driver was very suspicious of the house here, but he still unloaded his luggage dutifully and drove away while muttering something.
"Why do you always bring so many things?”Bangs said while carrying his luggage.
"Do you know how thick and heavy those books are?”panted Hermione.
"All I know is that this book is definitely heavier than the bricks used to build a house.”Bangs said with a smile.
When they reached the yard, Fred and George helped to carry the luggage into the house.
"Are you living well here?" asked Hermione.
"I'm better than ever." Bangs said as he sat on the chair.
"Where's Ron?" asked Hermione, looking around.
"He's probably still feeding his precious bird.”Bance said.
"When will Harry be here?" asked Hermione.
"Probably in a few days, soon, Ron's written to him.”Bance said.
"Hey, Bunce, wanna play?”Fred called from the yard.
"Okay, wait for me." said Bunce."Excuse me, Hermione.”
By five o'clock on Sunday afternoon, Bunce and the others were all ready to pick Harry up, though Bunce had tried to persuade Mr. Weasley not to use Floo Powder, but they had been overruled as the bus was still speeding through the Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts.
"Don't worry, it'll be quick." said Mr. Weasley, about to step into the green flames.
"Alright then." Bangs said helplessly as Mr. Weasley disappeared into the green flames.
"Your turn, Bunce," said Fred.
Bunce grabbed some Floo powder and threw it into the fireplace. He walked in and said,"Number four, Privet Drive,"
When Bunce stopped spinning, Mr. Weasley said,"Aiyo! No, Bunce-go back, go back, there must be a mistake-tell Fred not to-Ouch! No, Fred, there's no room in here, go back and tell George-"
"There is only one way to solve our situation.”Bance said.
"What is it?" Everyone asked.
"Blow up the wall. They sealed the wall, so we can't get out.”Bance said.
"Damn it!" said Mr. Weasley's voice."Why would they seal up a perfectly good fireplace?”
"They probably got an electric stove.”Bance said.
"Really?" said Mr. Weasley excitedly."Electric, you mean? Is there a plug? Great, I've got to see it. Let me think. Ouch, Ron!”
"What are we doing here?" asked Ron.
"Oh, no, Ron," said Fred's voice, in a sarcastic tone."It's all right, this is exactly where we were coming.”
"Aiya, we're all wasting time here.”said George, his voice muffled as though he were pressed against the wall.
"Children…"I'm trying to decide what to do, boys," said Mr. Weasley."It's the only way, Harry.”shouted Mr. Weasley.
"Wait!" a boorish male voice bellowed."What do you want-"
Bang!
The sealed fireplace burst open, the electric stove on the wall flew across the room, and Bunce and the others were thrown out in a heap of rubble. Harry's aunt let out a shriek and fell backward on the coffee table, but her uncle caught her so she didn't fall.
"This is much more comfortable." Bangs said, brushing the dust off his robes. Mr. Weasley put out a hand and moved toward Harry's uncle, but Harry's uncle pulled his aunt back several paces.
"Er-yes, sorry." said Mr. Weasley, dropping his hand and looking over his shoulder at the exploding fireplace. I didn't expect that we wouldn't be able to get out of our destination. You know, I've connected your fireplace to the Floo network-just this afternoon, you know, to pick up Harry. Strictly speaking, Muggle fireplaces aren't supposed to be connected to the Internet-but I have a very useful acquaintance in the Floo Control Team who helped me get it done. Don't worry, I'll fix it for you in a while. I'm going to light a fire and send the kids back, and then I can fix your fireplace before I Disapparate.”
"Are you all right, Harry?" said Bunce, looking around.”
"Upstairs." said Harry, smiling.
"Let's go and move it down." said Fred at once. He and George winked at Harry with smirks on their faces and left.
"Alright then." said Mr. Weasley. He waved his hands slightly, as if desperately trying to find the right words to break the uncomfortable silence. "You've got a very-er-very nice place.”
The room was full of dust and broken bricks, and Bangs felt that this sentence would only have the opposite effect.
Mr. Weasley was looking around the room carelessly. He liked anything Muggle related. Bunce could see that he was dying to go over and examine the television and video.
"They use electricity, don't they?" He said very wisely,"Ah, yes, I see the plug." I collect plugs,"he said to Harry's uncle." And batteries. He collected a lot of batteries. My wife thought I was crazy, but you see, I was right.”
Suddenly, Harry's cousin Dudley appeared in the room. Bunce could hear trunks being dragged up the stairs, and he knew it was the noise that had scared Dudley out of the kitchen. Dudley moved along the wall in a comical fashion, staring at Mr. Weasley with eyes of utter horror, trying to hide behind his parents.
"Ah, so this is your cousin, is it, Harry?”Mr. Weasley plucked up his courage again and tried to talk to them.
"Yeah," said Harry."He's Dudley.”
"Did you have a good holiday, Dudley?" he asked kindly.
Dudley whimpered. Bunce noticed that he was clutching his fat buttocks with both hands.
Fred and George returned to the living room with Harry's school trunk. They looked around as soon as they entered, and the moment they saw Dudley, they both broke into identical smirks.
"Ah, well," said Mr. Weasley, sounding slightly disappointed,"we'd better get moving.”
He rolled up the sleeves of his robes and pulled out his wand. Bunce saw the Dursleys retreat to the wall in the same position.
"Blazing flames!" said Mr. Weasley, pointing his wand at the hole in the wall behind him.
Flames sprang up in the fireplace and crackled as brightly as if they had been burning for hours. Mr. Weasley pulled a small drawstring bag out of his pocket, opened it, squeezed out a bit of powder, and threw it into the fire, which immediately turned emerald green and rose even higher than before.
"Fred, you go first." said Mr. Weasley.
"Right away," said Fred."Oh no-wait-"
A bag of sweets slipped out of Fred's pocket, the contents of which were rolling all over the place-large, round toffees, wrapped in gaudy paper.
Fred crouched on the floor, scrambled to pick up the candy, stuffed it back into his pocket, then waved happily at the Dursleys, took a few steps forward, and walked straight into the flames, saying,"The Burrow!" Harry's aunt gasped and shuddered. There was a whoosh and Fred was gone.
"Now, George," said Mr. Weasley,"you can take your trunk and go.”
Together, George and Ron carried the trunk toward the flames, then set it upright so that George could hold it more firmly. Then George shouted,"The Burrow!”With another whoosh, he disappeared.
"Ron, it's your turn," said Mr. Weasley.
"Goodbye." said Ron happily to the Dursleys. He smiled at Harry, stepped into the fire, and shouted,"The Burrow!" Then, he disappeared.
Only Bunce, Harry, and Mr. Weasley remained.
"You first, Harry," Bangs said with a smile.
"Alright then, goodbye." Harry said to the Dursleys.
They did not say a word. Harry set off toward the flames, but as he reached the fireplace, Mr. Weasley put out a hand and pulled him back. Mr. Weasley was staring at the Dursleys in amazement.
"Harry said goodbye to you," he said.”
"Never mind," Harry whispered to Mr. Weasley."Honestly, I don't care.”
Mr. Weasley did not let go of Harry's shoulder.
"You won't see your nephew until next summer," he said to Harry's uncle, with a hint of anger."You're going to say goodbye, aren't you?”
"Alright, goodbye." said Harry's uncle angrily.
"Goodbye." said Harry, stepping into the flames and disappearing.
"You're the only one left now, Bangs.”said Mr. Weasley.
"Yes." Bunce said, putting one foot into the green flame. It felt like warm breath. At that moment, there was a terrible retching sound behind him, and Harry's aunt screamed.
Bangs turned around, knowing that there was going to be a good show. Dudley was no longer hiding behind his parents, but was kneeling beside the coffee table, a foot-long, slimy, purplish-red substance coming out of his mouth, making him retch and grunt. The foot-long thing was Dudley's tongue, and the reason for it was the colorful toffee paper on the floor in front of Dudley.
Harry's aunt lunged at Dudley, grabbed his swollen tongue, and tried desperately to pull it out of his mouth. Naturally, Dudley screamed, purring louder than ever, trying to get rid of her. Harry's uncle was waving his hands wildly, so furious that Mr. Weasley had to shout at the top of his lungs for them to hear him.
"Don't worry, I'll solve this problem!”he shouted, walking toward Dudley with his wand raised, but Harry's aunt screamed even louder and threw herself at Dudley, fearing Mr. Weasley might hurt him.
"Oh, don't be like that!" said Mr. Weasley hopelessly."It's very simple-it's all that toffee-my son Fred-he's always up to mischief-but never mind, it's a very simple bloating magic-at least that's what I think it is-please move aside, I can fix it-"
But the Dursleys were not relieved; they were even more nervous. Harry's aunt was sobbing hysterically, tugging at Dudley's tongue as though determined to pull it out by the roots. Dudley looked as if he were suffocating under the double pressure of his mother and his tongue. Completely out of control, Harry's uncle seized a China figurine from the top of the sideboard and hurled it at Mr. Weasley. Mr. Weasley ducked, and the ornament smashed into pieces on the blasted fireplace.
"Alright, stop fooling around!" said Mr. Weasley angrily, waving his wand.”
Harry's uncle bellowed like a wounded hippopotamus and seized another ornament.
"Bance, go! Hurry up and leave!" Mr. Weasley shouted, pointing his wand at Harry's uncle.”
Bunce did not want to miss this, but a second ornament thrown by Harry's uncle grazed the left side of his face. He thought for a moment and decided that it was best to leave Mr. Weasley to deal with the situation alone. Bangs stepped into the flames and said,""The Burrow!" He turned his head and looked back. He glanced one last time into the living room and saw Mr. Weasley blowing a third ornament in Harry's uncle's hand to smithereens with his wand. Harry's aunt was squealing over Dudley, whose tongue was sticking out of his mouth like a slithering boa constrictor. Then Bunce began to whirl around in the blazing emerald flames, and the Dursleys 'living room vanished.
