"You're here, Harry?" Bunce said, smiling at Harry, who had just entered the room.

"Yes." Harry stood there and mumbled.

There was a flurry of footsteps behind him, and Mr. Bagman had entered the room, seized Harry's arm, and pulled him along.

"This is too bizarre!" He said," It's absolutely bizarre! There were actually two Hogwarts champions, and both of them were underage! This is unbelievable!"

Fleur shook her long hair and smiled sweetly."Oh, that's a very funny joke, Mr. Bagman.”

"Joke?" Bagman repeated, puzzled."No, no, absolutely not! Harry's name had just shot out of the Goblet of Fire!”

Krum's thick eyebrows creased darkly.

"But it's obviously a mistake," said Fleur haughtily."They can't compete. They're not old enough. They're too young.”

" Yeah, it's surprising," Bagman said, rubbing his smooth chin and smiling." But, you know, the age limit was only implemented this year as an additional safety measure. Since their names are all coming out of the goblet, I mean, I think that since we've reached this point, we can't run away. The rules are very clear, and you have to abide by them."

The door behind them was pushed open again, and a large group of people swarmed in. Professor Dumbledore, followed by Mr. Crouch, Professor Karkaroff, Madame Maxime, Professor McGonagall, and Professor Snape. Before Professor McGonagall closed the door behind her, Bunce could vaguely hear the murmuring of hundreds of students in the Hall next door.

"Madame Maxime!" said Fleur at once, striding toward her headmaster.”

Madame Maxime straightened her massive frame. Her handsome head hit the candle-filled chandelier, and her huge chest in black satin heaved violently.

"What does it mean, Dumbledore?”she said arrogantly.

"I'd like to know that, Dumbledore," said Karkaroff, with a cold smile and blue eyes as cold as ice."Hogwarts can have two champions? I don't remember anyone telling me-haven't I read the rules carefully enough?”

He gave a short, unpleasant laugh.

"That's impossible," said Madame Maxime, her large hand covered with ornate opals resting on Fleur's shoulder."There can't be two champions at Hogwarts, it's very unfair.”

"I thought your age line was supposed to keep underage competitors out, Dumbledore," said Karkaroff coldly."But look here, two underage ones."

"They're to blame for this, Karkaroff," said Snape quietly, his dark eyes shining strangely."Don't blame Dumbledore, it's their insistence on breaking the rules. You know, ever since they entered the school, they've been constantly breaking the school rules-"

"Thank you, Severus," said Dumbledore firmly.

"Care to explain, Bunce?" said Dumbledore, looking at Bunce.

"Yes, Professor. As everyone guessed, I cracked Professor Dumbledore's age line. As for the Goblet of Fire spitting out my name, that proves that I have the strength to be a warrior, doesn't it?”Bangs said with a smile.

"This is impossible." cried Professor McGonagall.

Dumbledore turned and asked calmly,"So, Harry, did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?”

"No, I haven't." said Harry.

"Did you ask any of your older classmates to put your name in the Goblet of Fire?”Professor Dumbledore continued to ask.

"No, I haven't." said Harry excitedly.

"Ah, he must be lying!" cried Madame Maxime.

"No, I didn't." Harry shouted excitedly.

"Dumbledore's line must be wrong.”Madame Maxime shrugged.

"Of course, this is also possible." said Dumbledore politely.

"Mr. Crouch, Mr. Bagman," said Karkaroff, his voice slippery again."You two are our-objective judges. You must think it highly inappropriate, don't you?”

Bagman wiped his round baby face with his handkerchief and looked at Mr. Crouch. Mr. Crouch was standing outside the firelight, his face half hidden in shadow.

"We have to abide by the rules, and the rules clearly state that anyone whose name comes out of the Goblet of Fire must compete in the tournament.”

"Hey, Barty's got the rules by heart.”Bagman said with a smile.

"I insist that my other students re-register.”said Karkaroff. "You'll have to put the Goblet of Fire out again," he said."We'll keep adding names until each school produces two champions. It's only fair, Dumbledore.”

"But Karkaroff, I'm afraid that won't do," said Bagman."The Goblet of Fire has just been extinguished-it won't be rekindled until the next tournament-"

"-Durmstrang will never be in the next tournament!”said Karkaroff furiously."After all the meetings, after all the negotiations, after all the negotiations, we didn't expect this to happen! I just want to leave now!"

"A bluff, Karkaroff!”A voice bellowed from the door."You cannot leave your champion now. He had to participate in the competition. They all had to participate in the competition. As Dumbledore had said, it was bound by a magical contract. It's good for you, isn't it?"

Moody had just entered the room. He limped toward the fire, and every time his right foot hit the ground, there was a loud thump.

"Favorable?" said Karkaroff."I'm afraid I don't understand, Moody.”

"Is that so?" said Moody quietly."It's simple, Karkaroff. Someone had put Potter's name into the goblet, knowing that if it was spat out, Potter would have to compete.”

"Obviously, that person wants to give Hogwarts a second chance!”said Madame Maxime.

"I agree with you, Madame Maxime," said Karkaroff, bowing to her."I want to lodge a complaint with the Ministry of Magic and the International Confederation of Wizards-"

"If anyone has a reason to complain, it's Potter," said Moody gruffly."But it's funny I didn't hear a word from him."

"Why would he complain?" Fleur couldn't help but ask, stamping her foot. We've been hoping for weeks that we'd be chosen! Bring glory to our school! And a thousand Galleons in prize money-a chance many people dreamed of!”

"Maybe someone wanted Potter to die for it.”said Moody, with a tinge of snarling in his voice.

There was an extremely tense silence after he finished speaking. Bagman looked very anxious. His body jerked up and down uneasily as he said,"Moody, you old thing... How can you say such a thing!"

"We all know that Professor Moody will think this morning a waste if he doesn't find out by lunchtime that six people are trying to kill him.”said Karkaroff loudly."Apparently, he's teaching his students to be paranoid, too, that they're being murdered. It's a rare quality for a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Dumbledore. But without a doubt, you have your own considerations.”

"What, am I making something out of nothing?" snarled Moody."I have a feeling it was a very clever wizard who put the boy's name in the goblet."

"Oh, do you have any evidence?" asked Madame Maxime.

"Because they deceived a magical item with very powerful spells!”said Moody."It would have taken a particularly powerful Confusion Charm to fool the goblet into forgetting that only three schools were taking part in the tournament, and I suppose they must have put Potter's name in as a fourth school to make sure he was the only one from that school."

"You seem to have put a lot of thought into this, Moody," said Karkaroff coldly."It's a very novel theory-though, of course, I hear you've recently had the strange idea that you received a birthday present containing a well-disguised Basilisk egg, and smashed it into pieces, only to discover that it was a travel alarm clock. Therefore, you can understand if we don't take your words seriously."

"There are people who use innocuous activities for their own ends," Moody retorted threateningly."It's my job to think like a Dark wizard, Karkaroff-you won't forget that."

"Alastor!" warned Dumbledore. Moody fell silent-and Karkaroff blushed like fire.

"We don't know how this situation happened.”said Dumbledore."But it seems to me that we have no choice but to accept it. Bunce and Harry had both been chosen to play. Therefore, they must "

"Ah, but Dumbledore-"

"My dear Madame Maxime, if you have another solution, I'm all ears.”

Dumbledore waited, but Madame Maxime did not speak, she just glared angrily. And she wasn't the only one who looked dissatisfied. Snape looked angry too; Karkaroff was livid, but Bagman looked very excited.

"Alright, shall we continue?”said Bagman, grinning."Gonna be coaching our champions, aren't we? Barty, why don't you do the talking?"

Mr. Crouch seemed to come out of his reverie.

" Okay," he said." Guidance. Yes, the first project."

" The first task is to test your courage," he said." So we're not going to tell you what it is. Facing the unknown is an important quality for a wizard. It's very important."

"The first task will be held on November 24th, in front of the other students and the panel of judges.

"Warriors are not allowed to ask or accept any help from their teachers in completing the competition. The only weapon the champion had in the first challenge was his wand. They would only know about the second project after the first project was over. Because of the high requirements and long duration of the competition, the champions did not take the annual exam.“

Mr. Crouch turned to Dumbledore.

"I think that's all, Albus?”

"Yes," said Dumbledore, looking at Mr. Crouch with some concern."Are you sure you don't want to stay at Hogwarts tonight, Barty?”

"Yes, Dumbledore, I have to get back to the Ministry," said Mr. Crouch."It's a very busy, very difficult time. I've put young Weatherby in charge for the time being. He's very enthusiastic, to be honest, a bit too enthusiastic."

"Well, can you at least come over for a drink before you leave?”said Dumbledore.

"Come on, Barty, I'm staying here!”said Bagman with great enthusiasm."It's finally happening at Hogwarts, isn't it? It's a lot more interesting than the office!”

"I disagree, Ludo," said Crouch with his usual impatience.

"Professor Karkaroff-Madame Maxime-would you like a nightcap?”said Dumbledore.

Madame Maxime, however, had her arm around Fleur's shoulders and was leading her quickly out of the room. Bunce could hear them talking fast in French as they made their way toward the Great Hall. Karkaroff greeted Krum and left without a word.

"Bunce, Harry, I suggest you go back to bed.”said Dumbledore, smiling at them both."I'm sure the Gryffindors are waiting to celebrate with you. They finally had an excuse to make a scene. It would be too wrong to take away this opportunity from them.”

On the way back to the common room, Bunce and Harry didn't say much until-

"Well, well, well," said the Fat Lady."Violet's told me everything. Are you all the school's warriors?"

"Nonsense." said Harry drily.

"Definitely not!" a pale-faced witch in the painting said angrily.

"No, no, Violet, that's the password.”consoled the Fat Lady, and she swung forward to reveal a large hole.

As the portrait was opened, the sudden clamor in his ears made Bangs feel a little dizzy. Then he and Harry were dragged into the common room by the people inside. The whole Gryffindor class was screaming, cheering, and whistling.

"How did you guys register?" roared Fred. He looked half angry and half excited.

"How did you pass the test without growing a beard? That's great!" shouted George.

"We've got something to eat, come and have some-"

"I'm full enough-"

After about half an hour or so, Bunce pulled Harry up the stairs, and the rest of the class tried to stop him.

"Harry and I are going to bed, so let's go.”Bangs yawned.

However, everyone ignored him as if he had not said anything.

"I'm tired!" bellowed Harry."Bunce and I both want to go to bed-"

At last, Bunce and Harry broke away from the crowd and hurried upstairs to their dormitory.

"Oh, hello." said Ron.

"Where did you go?" said Harry, closing the door.

"Congratulations." said Ron.

"What do you mean? Congratulations?”said Harry, puzzled.

"It's nothing," said Ron."No one else has crossed the age line, not even Fred and George. How did you do it-the Cloak?”

"The Cloak won't get me over the line.”said Harry slowly.

"Oh, yes," said Ron."If it's the Cloak, I think you'll call me because it covers all three of us, doesn't it?”

"Listen," said Harry,"I didn't put my name in that goblet. It must be someone else."

said Ron, grinning."Why would they do that?”

"I don't know," said Harry."To kill me, I suppose."”

"Don't explain, Harry, he's hopeless, go to sleep.”Bangs said as he lay on the bed.

"And you, Bance, you were selected too. Why didn't you call me?”said Ron.

"Even if I called you, would you be able to do it, Ron? Do you think that choosing a warrior is a competition of jealousy?”Bangs said mockingly.

"Bance, how can you say that?”said Harry.

"He's right, Harry, why didn't you tell me the truth? I don't see why you can't be as frank as Bunce, what's the point of lying, you didn't get into any trouble for it, did you? The Fat Lady's friend, Violet, she's told us all. A thousand gold coins, right? And you don't have to take the year-end exam."

"I didn't put my name in that goblet!”said Harry angrily.

"Yeah, well," said Ron suspiciously."Don't take me for a fool.”

"You have indeed left such an impression on me now.”said Harry crossly.

"Go to sleep, Harry, he's a fool.”Bangs turned over and said.

At this, Ron pulled the curtains over his four-poster with such force that the four pillars creaked.
