The music was very popular. It was some form of electronic music with a lot of bass. Luo Chong knocked on the door and they waited. There was no reply, so the effort on Wayne's door was not enough to shake it on the hinged hammer. A few minutes later, Yang Jiaqi appeared. She was wearing a black dress and hugged her seductive curves, showing off her voluptuous chest and well-proportioned back.

"Hey, guys!" she said gleefully, making a din. "Come on!"

They walked in and were shocked by the number of people in Luo Chong's group. They were huddled together in every corner of the assembly hall, holding red plastic cups in their hands. The girls were all looking for the best players to clean up.

"Like this!" Yang Jiaqi shouted over the music.

Luo Chong followed her further along the corridor to the back of the house. The music came from the living room. The sofa had been forced into a corner and the dance floor was cleared. There was a table lined with different drinks, most of which were alcoholic. Yang Jiaqi turned to them and extended her hand.

"The key!" she shouted.

Luo Chong hesitated. "I'm not drunk." he said.

Yang Jiaqi laughed. "Of course! You'll collapse like everyone else who's drunk, press the button now and pay every five bucks!”

Luo Chong saw that there was no argument with her, so he handed her his keys and handed her a ten-dollar bill. She turned her eyes to Wayne, who raised his hands defensively.

"I got a Qi Luo Zi." He told her.

She looked at him with distrust and nodded. "Well, if you're still awake at the end of the night, come find me and I'll return the key I gave you. Otherwise, find a place to pass it out, and you'll see them again in the morning. If you go back to smoking, do go back upstairs and the bedroom is closed unless I give you permission to go.”

"Alright then." Luo Chong replied.

"Cool, Xiao Min is over there. If you want to say 'hello', I'm going to the longer door.”she said.

They all nodded and headed to where Yang Jiaqi pointed out to stop the drink table so Wayne could get a beer. When they approached Xiao Minluo, she held her breath. She looked amazing. Her long black hair fell loosely down her back, standing straight in beautiful contrast to her bright red dress. It was sleeveless and suited her slender form tightly and greedily because he wanted to embrace her curves. Xiao Min saw them approaching and smiled brightly.

"Hey!" she said.

"How did it go?" Luo Chong asked.

"Did you notice anything good?”she asked.

"Yeah, no problem. You look great!" Luo Chong told her.

Xiao Min smiled and said modestly. "Yes, thank you. You look good too."

"I'm like you, I hope!" Wei Ming said as if he had nowhere to go.

He handed it to Xiao Min and she thanked him with a smile. Wei Ming wrapped his arm around her waist and felt awkward with Luo Chong. Xiao Min looked at him apologetically because she realized her mistake, but Luo Chong didn't look at her anymore. He felt like an idiot. Wayne saved him while he maintained the call, and he recovered from his shock. His dreams for the entire night were suddenly taken away.

In a casual manner, Wei Ming and Xiao Min had no doubts. It was not snatching. He couldn't remember when he had always been more embarrassed than when he had been alone. How could he be so impudent? What expectations did he have? Her text messages had always been friendly, but he would tell them the emotions he wanted them to have.

Luo Chong continued to talk. After staying for a long enough time, he had to be polite, followed by Wayne who recognized his friend's face. He saw a girl in the mirror, and it was often not enough after being rejected. Luo Chong led him to drink and grabbed his beer. He cracked open and Wayne stood next to him, the two of them leaning against the wall while they watched the party-goers drink and chat. The party hadn't really been fully unfolded, just not yet, just people catching up and getting their blood alcohol levels as high.

"So, you're drinking." Wayne said.

"Ah, damn it, we're going to fall apart here.”Luo Chong replied unhappily and drank his beer.

Luo Chong felt like dog shit. He had been making himself feel depressed for several months, even after he and Jenna had broken up. There were some things that he needed to do. He needed to let go of himself. He needed to stop too much, and his thoughts became delusional. At least for one night, he would be Luo Chong in high school. He had always been this guy who had let himself indulge in self-pity. Xiao Min woke him up, but it was a pity.

"Is there anything you want to do with Xiao Min?”Wayne asked.

"Yes, I am." Luo Chong said and drank to his heart's content. The cool fluid went down his throat smoothly.

"Anything you want to talk about?" Wayne asked.

"No, I haven't." he replied, swallowing.

"What do I suggest?" He suggested.

"My guest." Luo Chong replied.

Wayne grinned. "Woman, you're making the high points higher and lower points more and more frequently.”

Luo Chong laughed as they bumped into each other before taking a long swig of their beer. Wayne saw someone he knew and dragged Luo Chong into introducing him to them. In the next hour, Luo Chong was introduced to 20 different people, all of whom Wayne knew, and all of whom seemed to be his direct friends, after Wayne's endorsement. Wayne seemed to make other goals, making everyone in the party Luo Chong's friends, and was obviously doing it well, because in the end, the distrust and hostility Luo Chong got became popular as he walked in.

Luo Chong stuffed the beer into his hand more than he had ever intended to drink, and after a few hours there was a good buzz. He ran into Xiao Min a few times, and they shared some words to stop him before they separated again. For some reason, the drinking game between the five guys in the kitchen ended. The audience cheered loudly when they saw Wayne. Wayne introduced, and they all waved their hands.

Some of them were familiar with the other guests. He knew that these people had graduated from high school, and some of them were already on the football team, so he knew their names at least. There was one person who was a year younger than him, which made sense, because this was Yang Jiaqi's party, and she had been mixed behind him for a year in high school.

"Can he drink?" the leader of the group asked, as if he wanted to challenge him.

"Can I drink it?" Wayne exclaimed in disbelief. "Of course he can! Here!" he said as Luo Chong shoved a can of beer in his hand. "You, what you did."

Luo Chong laughed. "Alright then."

He held the beer parallel to the ground, pressing his thumb to the side. The audience curiously looked at the dramatic effect of Luo Chong's pause. He clicked on his thumbnail-print, copied a hole that could be near the base, and then brought it to his mouth. He pulled the label vertically and tossed the whole beer near the recycling bin, just as his grandfather had taught him.

"That damned guy is crazy!”one of the players exclaimed.

Wayne smiled and patted Luo Chong as he returned. "South Enders isn't all bad, you know.”

Luo's man, who was very cool, said,"Boss.”

Luo Chong grinned. "The northern Siders aren't that bad on their own.”

They all insisted that he taught them how to do the trick, and Wayne Rowe pulled away because they all tried it on themselves and took him to the dance area. He seemed to be looking for someone, but with so many people surrounding Luo Chong to guess who it was, they had always been lacking. The tables that had been pulled into the living room and dining room had sprung up from a beer-pong competition. Luo Chong took a glance and saw the time shown on the New York news report on the flat-screen TV installed on the wall. It was one hour to midnight.

The party was now an all-round movement, and the dance was more beautiful and more sexual. Various drinking games were held all over the place, and more than a few couples sat on the sofa. Fortunately, he didn't see Xiao Min and Wei Ming. He was actually having a good time meeting all these new people who were unexpectedly enthusiastic. He left Wayne and became confident in himself.

He lingered for a moment, then stopped at the beverage meter, where he had purchased another beverage. When he turned to leave, he bumped into someone else, Xiao Min. She was teetering on the verge of losing herself to her, but did not overthrow the years of dance lessons that had saved her from leaking.

"Oh, sorry." He hurriedly apologized.

Xiao Min giggled. "I'm fine. Do you have a good time?”she asked.

"Yes, I am." he said. "I had a great time."

"Cool." she said, obviously drunk. "Hey, look at Yang Jiaqi!" she said, pointing to her friend in the room on the other side. "Hey, Yang Jiaqi!" She shouted over the music with heavy drunken enthusiasm.

Luo Chong smiled clearly. She had drunk a lot of wine, and he was glad to see her having so much fun. The way things had turned out was that he couldn't bear any ill feelings towards her. This was unfair. He was counting on her to end a relationship. She had many years of people agreeing with others. She really didn't know. He had seen people break up and come back together dozens of times like Xiao Min and Wei Ming in high school. This wasn't a healthy dynamic, but it didn't change the reality of their relationship.

Even though he would consume the volume of alcohol, Luo Chong was not drunk. He spaced out so much that he buzzed with happiness, which was probably why he had such a good time, why he felt that everyone else was accepted by him. He was a cheerful drunk, and it was also possible that he found himself able to tell what had happened in the past, just like Xiao Min. Luo Chong still liked her, but these feelings of friendship were where they should be.

Yang Jiaqi didn't hear Xiao Min's phone call. At first, she was watching the audience while drinking the wine cooler. She mostly kept the house awake to prevent permanent damage.

"Yang Jiaqi, congratulations!" Xiao Min cursed even louder. When her friend didn't respond, she excitedly gestured.

At the sound of her name, Yang Jiaqi turned her head and found her waving friend. The black-haired man smiled and waved his hand from behind the wall near her.

"You should talk to her." Xiao Min tried to persuade him, but her words were a little unclear.

"Should I?" he said.

Xiao Min grabbed his arm. "Yes." she said, nodding. " Don't tell her. I'll tell you." She continued to plot. "But she totally has a crush on you in high school.”
