On the way back to Nanchong, I lost all interest. Why did I come back with five books? However, in the car, in my boredom, I randomly picked up a book called Dragon Shaking Scripture and opened it. I found something strange and immediately became interested.
It turned out that every book had Brother Rat's mark on it. Although the words are not very good, they still look understandable. In addition, my high school language is good, so it basically doesn't take much effort to read them.
The Dragon Shaking Scripture divided the mountain range into nine stars: Greed, Giant Gate, Lucun, Wenqu, Lianzhen, Wuqu, Junpo, Zuo Fu, and You Bi. The book combined these stars to describe the landscape. The full text was divided into three parts. The first part was to find the branches in the trunk, the second part was to find the dragon to the end, and the third part was the method of forming a cave. The burial method was divided into 24 types.
It began by saying,"Mount Xumi is the bone of heaven and earth, and it is a giant that suppresses heaven and earth." Like a man's back and a beam. Give birth to four dragon limbs." I found it very strange. This was turning the world into a person, and then turning the body into an object. This majestic aura was shocking. The note beside it said,"To see the wind and water, one must first cut in from the big." He also saw a folding sign on this mountain, which read "Mandala, Liupan Mountain of Ningxia". I was shocked. So this mountain had its origin!
The second sentence was,"The four limbs are divided into four worlds, north, south, west, and east. Northwest Kongtong tens of thousands of miles, east into the three curtains is the dark.”This was comparing a person to a country, and the four limbs were divided into the north, south, east, and west of the country. In that case, wouldn't the position of the heart or head be good Feng Shui? If the capital was the heart, then wouldn't the head of state be able to be found? I looked at the annotation: "Take the region as a bureau, and there is a bureau in the middle, which is the four phases."
I began to close my eyes and slowly comprehend. The ancients didn't have so much advanced technology, nor did they have very precise maps. However, they had heaven and earth in their hearts. A sense of grandeur arose spontaneously. The ancients probably chose a wonder in this vast land, and it had to be at the heart of the country. Oh, what kind of beautiful scenery would that be!
I slowly looked at it and slowly understood it. I had a feeling that the ancient Feng Shui theory was very particular even now, and there was indeed scientific reason. This " finding branches in the trunk " was what we call the principle of looking for points from the surface and pushing the surface from the point.
After reading the first half, I felt that the ancient people's research on mountains and rivers had reached the extreme. In the past, I had suspected that Zhuge Liang could rely on the weather to win the battle. Now, it seemed that there were indeed such magical people in this world, and they were probably much more powerful than the current weather forecast.
Unknowingly, I arrived at the station. When I returned to the dormitory, I squatted on the bed and began to study. Just as I was about to finish the first part, a piece of paper slipped out of the book. I opened it gently and wrote: On a certain day in a certain year and month, one person died and two were injured at home. One person died at the stone door of the tomb and two were injured at the dark stone beside the coffin. How hateful, how hateful!
I didn't understand what this meant. I guessed that they had carried out a grave-digging operation. As a result, one of them died at the stone door, and the other two were injured by the hidden weapons beside the coffin. Was he warning her to be careful in the future?
I closed my eyes and slowly memorized the first part. The ancient city of Loulan flashed through my mind. The location, the layout of the city and the coffin gradually became clear. But there were still many things I couldn't figure out. Why was it set up next to the waterway? Wasn't drying the corpse to preserve it for a longer time? I didn't see any lime used?
I read the second chapter of the Dragon Shaking Scripture. Looking at the dragon head with astrology is a method, but it is very difficult for me to study it at the same time, because Sichuan doesn't have so many sunny days. I can't see what the stars look like at night. I began to memorize the words. Fortunately, I had Brother Rat's explanation. This explanation used Lu Cun as a guide, which was to pay attention to how to create a prosperous place in the surrounding environment. This place used the giant door as the location of the acupoint. Then, I talked about the direction and observed the astrology. It was a logical explanation. I began to imagine a very perfect Feng Shui place. I had to face Lu Cun and then set up a huge door to push Greed back. Oh, I'm starting to understand. This Ravenous Wolf can turn bad into good, but he can also be the door god of the grave.
Seeing this, I couldn't help but laugh. How did he come up with this? It was very rare to turn this fiendish demon into a treasure. However, this ancient person was extremely fond of Greed. From the looks of it, the guards at the door had to be burly so that the master would not be bullied.
When I was reading the next part of the Dragon Shaking Scripture, I saw that Brother Haozi's annotations actually used Army Destroyer and Wenqu as the starting point, extending to the other stars, and finally the nine stars.
As written in the article:
"Greedy wolves make their nests from their nips, while giant doors make their nests from their nests. Wu Qu made a hole hairpin clamp to find, Lu Lian comb teeth plow head.
Wenqu Cave is built in Pingli, and the palm falls from the high place. Breaking the army and digging a hole like a spear, the left and right hands beside the body are withdrawn.
There must be two mountains to protect the turn, otherwise a river will cross the river. The auxiliary star is in the cave of the swallow nest, as if hanging a lamp on a high mountain.
Falling on the low flat is a chicken nest, even if there is a garden head is also a concave image. This is to find the star hole, find the hole with the dragon to distinguish carefully.
If the dragon is true, the cave is also true. If the dragon is not true, the cave is less true. Although it is easy to find the dragon, it is difficult to cut the cave, but because people at that time like to peel the mountain.
It is not difficult to find the cave of the suspected dragon. The ancients looked at the dragon to know the main cave, probably will know the dragon to change the festival soon.
Know the dragon family star, wealth can make people endless.”
This change point was a change, how to make this tomb grow better and better over time. Breaking the army meant joining the army, and literature meant being an official. Whether it was true or false depended on the astrology. The ancients meant that there was truth and falsehood in the changes. What was false was not what we called untruth, but it was false until the time came, and when the time came, it would be true. The reason for this change made me sigh.
The moment I closed the book, I lamented that although the ancients did not have high technology, they could use the knowledge they could understand to perfection. This is something that we can't compare to now. The knowledge of integrating all kinds of natural phenomena into the grave was really magical.
I excitedly called Brother Rat to report the results, but he didn't expect me to listen at all." You haven't even entered the door. It's useless to just look at it. You'd better finish reading it all and call me again. I'll consider whether to accept you or not! Let's not talk about it anymore. I'm playing mahjong."
I was so cold at that time. Can't this kid encourage me? I've been reading for a week, and I've used up hundreds of millions of my brain cells. I'm not even this serious in the college entrance examination.
I have no choice but to continue reading. The second book I read was [Burial Book]. This book was not as easy to understand as the Dragon Shaking Scripture. It only talked about the customs and etiquette of burial. It also talked about the time and season of burial, and also mentioned the selection of acupuncture points for burial. I noticed that Brother Rat paid a lot of attention to the selection of acupoints and made a lot of comments. Some pages were even full.
I thought that this was just a book about the rules of burial, but I realized that his focus was different. I began to read it from beginning to end.
I basically relied on Brother Rat's notes to understand this book. I feel that a lot of knowledge is very difficult to digest. For example, why the burial time had to be so accurate, and why soil was so important in this burial book. The most noteworthy thing was qi. It was just a few pages, but I spent another week reading it.
"Qi goes with the wind, and the wind carries the earth, and the earth enters the sky.”This was the focus of Brother Rat's book. I seemed to understand everything, but also seemed to understand nothing. However, when I saw the words " There are three good things in the cave, and there are six bad things buried in the cave " to the ending," The good things buried in the cave are the same as the corpse." I completely understood. The so-called gathering of qi was to rely on this acupoint to gather, and burial was to let unlucky things sink, dissipate, or be used by oneself.
Closing the book, I began to conjure up a scene in my mind. It was surrounded by water on three sides, facing east and dry. There were trees on the dry land, and the leaves were lush. There was a mountain in the center, and the water flowed through the mountains and rivers. The mountains were like coiled snakes. At the navel of the mountain, a family was buried, with their heads facing north. This began to match the ancient saying that the gathering of qi began here. Perhaps he could really absorb the essence of heaven and earth.
After that, I began to study the Five Essential Mysteries of Yin and Yang. What was infuriating was that this was actually an old book. It looked like something that had been unearthed from a grave. Because the words inside were indecipherable, and it was unknown which dynasty it was from, it was covered with transparent tape. There were also many comments next to the scotch tape. I found it very laborious because the mutual transformation between Yin and Yang seemed to be very obscure. Moreover, it involved the evolution of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. The principle of mutual breeding and mutual restriction was very easy to understand, but to integrate it into the grave, it seemed to be determined by the burial posture of the burial person.
The strangest thing I saw in the explanation was: Men and women were yin and yang, with girls and boys as the representatives of yin and yang. The whole body was tightened, and after three days of not eating, the whole body was emptied. The whole body was buried with ornaments related to the attributes of the tomb owner, and placed on the left and right sides of the coffin, which could also create yin and yang.
Oh my god, wouldn't he kill the child?! After reading this book, although I knew how to judge the yin and yang of the tomb, I felt very disgusted. This book took me five days. In these five days, I drew metal, wood, water, fire, and earth in class and arranged them. It felt like solving a problem, but it also felt like deduction. One class was often not enough for me to match them all together and form a system of my own.
Next was the [Burial Method]. I read this book at night. I lay in bed. From time to time, students from other dormitories would come to visit. When they saw me reading this book alone under the lamp on the bed, they treated me as a monster. I gradually discovered this problem, so I tried not to look at it for a day. Instead, I bragged to them, but my heart still remembered these different burial methods. In the end, when we were chatting, I would talk about the ancient burial of people. I even scared a classmate into having nightmares for several days.
I made up my mind and rented a house near the school. I hid there and studied day and night. I even drew tombs, coffins, water streams, mountains, and suns on white paper. I placed them all over the ground and tried to place them myself to see if they met the requirements of the ancients.
If the " Dragon Shaking Scripture " was about choosing a place, and the " Burial Method and Upside Down Staff " was about how to bury a person, if they were to look at it separately, it was very likely that they would find a place but not a grave. In the annotations of the [Burial Method's Inverted Staff], it was stated that the inverted staff was a method to separate the living from the dead. This was also something that one had to pay attention to when separating the yin and yang. I wasn't scared by what I saw, but when I thought about it, if anyone really believed in ghosts and gods, I would be scared because anything could attract ghosts and gods if they were not careful. " Looking at the book again, there are many rules that we still use, such as jumping into the brazier, and after the burial, we have to go to a crowded place.
However, Brother Rat didn't seem to care about these things. He was more concerned about how the funerary objects were placed in the " Burial Staff ". There were so many ways to go about it. There could be many things to be buried. If there were more, it meant that he would not have to be an ordinary citizen after he went down, but a small official. If they brought more people, the official position would be bigger. Besides the people, the funerary objects were for the servants. The things in the coffin were for their own use. The method of burial determined the official position in the netherworld. What was even more peculiar was that there were many details to this, and it was all well documented. This book only has a few pages, but it took me five nights to understand and learn it.
I didn't feel like reading that day. I called my family and my father asked me a lot of questions. The most puzzling thing was that he actually asked me if my uncle had called me.
I realized that something had happened. After hanging up on Dad, I immediately called Second Uncle, but no one picked up. I called Grandpa again, but no one picked up. I called Uncle again, but no one picked up. I called Sis Hua again, but this time someone picked up. Sis Hua seemed very tired. I quickly asked,"What's wrong?"
She said,"Your uncle went to dig his own grave and got caught! Your grandfather is bailing him out. Now, in order to prevent anyone from investigating, he doesn't need to use the phone from before. Your uncle and the others went to the southern border to hide and will only come back after a while. You have to be careful there!”
I nodded repeatedly. "Is it serious this time?" I asked with concern.”
"I don't know!" Sis Hua replied coldly.”
I had just replied with an "oh" when the phone hung up, making me feel very melancholic.
To be honest, I'm very worried because Grandpa's phone has never been changed. What exactly happened this time? My heart was in a mess. I went out for a walk and suddenly thought of First Grandfather and Third Master Yin. I called Sis Hua again to ask for their number, but she didn't pick up again. I ran to the island in the middle of the lake and lit a cigarette. I watched Mozzie feast on my lap, but I didn't feel anything. The sky is suffocating. No, I can't go on like this. Should I go back and take a look? I immediately called my dad." Dad, I'll come back to take a look. Don't let anything happen to them!”
His father roared on the other end of the phone," You better study hard over there. What's the use of you coming back? What can you do to help?”
After saying that, he hung up the phone without any explanation. I was very depressed, but thinking about it, what help could I possibly be of? I took a tricycle and wandered around the city. I saw a spa and thought about how I hadn't taken a bath in a long time. I was in a good mood to go. I jumped out of the car and rushed into the spa. What was annoying was that it was basically filled with little girls who were dressed in unusually revealing clothes. I was depressed again. Wasn't this the legendary underground business? Amidst the girls 'shouts, I left as if I was fleeing.
By the time I returned to my small rented apartment, it was already sunset. I had no appetite at all, so I picked up the last book, the Yellow Emperor's House Classic. It was a very thick book with dozens of pages and very few annotations. This book was not difficult to understand. It mainly talked about choosing an otaku. It only took me two days to finish reading the book, but I was very puzzled. What did digging graves have to do with choosing an otaku? I didn't understand, so I called Brother Rat. He seems to be sleeping. I looked at my watch. It's already noon, but he's still sleeping. He seems very unhappy.
I ignored this and asked,"Brother Rat, look at the Yellow Emperor's House Scripture. It's about choosing a house. What does it have to do with lifting the coffin?"”
Brother Rat said," Why don't you use your brain? There's a choice of residence, and there's also a choice of netherworld residence. This netherworld residence is to choose a grave!”
After saying that, the call ended. Yin House! This opened my mind, but I quickly went down a wrong path. I always consider the problem based on the number of rooms and halls we have now. The so-called side rooms of the ancients are not the auxiliary bedrooms we speak of, but represent feng shui. The objects placed in the main room represented his identity or were given to the immortals because the immortals were here to pick him up and ascend. The immortal would definitely enter the side room from the main room, and the things in the main room were given to the immortal. By the time I understood this, two days had passed.
I made a trip to the cemetery. Surrounded by mountains, I sat beside a grave and began to compare. If this place was given to me, how should I decorate it? The contents of those books began to slowly fuse in my mind. From choosing a grave to digging a grave, to whether to plant a tree, to whether to pile a boulder, my thoughts slowly flowed smoothly. In the beginning, I felt that it was very difficult for me to consider everything. If I wanted to take care of this, I had to change that. In the end, I always took care of one thing and lost sight of another. My head hurt from thinking about it. I sat there and began to sigh. At this time, a little bird attracted me. The little bird landed on a tree branch and then flew up again. Sometimes it went up and down in the wind, and sometimes it flew from tree to tree. It was very happy. After a while, it flew so far that I couldn't see it. At this moment, I turned my head and saw the distant mountain. My eyebrows seemed to move. Why didn't I use the layout of the mountains and rivers to set up a grave?
I looked around and the mountains and rocks began to leap into my heart. I climbed up another grave mountain and began to lay out my plans for the two mountains. In the end, I found the arrangement very ugly. To put it simply, the two mountains were used as a funnel, arranged as stones, and the qi gathered in the middle. A bronze mirror was buried in the east, west, north and south of the tomb, and two weeping willows were buried at the mountain pass. A jar of rice wine, for a long time, but also to curb evil spirits into the grave; Put a big stone next to the tree to intimidate. Yes, it was almost time. Suddenly, I was surprised to find that there was indeed a tomb at the place I chose. I looked at the entrance but there were no trees or stones. If it was placed like this, it would be inevitable for evil qi to enter. If my guess is correct, according to the ancient saying, this tomb should be hotter than ordinary tombs. Because gathering qi and not regulating qi is equivalent to eating everything like a pixiu, but you don't have to vomit after eating it. If you're lucky, you're lucky. If you're unlucky, you're unlucky. I curiously walked down the mountain to touch it. Then, I looked for the grave outside the entrance. It seemed…I could clearly feel that it was a little hot. I was shocked and quickly dodged to the side. This…this couldn't be true, right? I ran again. The grave outside the circle was cold. When I ran back, the grave was actually warm! Oh my god, there really was such a thing!
I was really scared this time. Why? Wasn't this a lie in the past? Wasn't it because the ancients didn't understand science? But why, why was it true? I started to believe that there might be a way to explain this, but I just couldn't explain it yet. The exciting thing was that I had mastered this knowledge.
I ran to the entrance of the cemetery and started to call Brother Rat. He listened very quietly this time. I shouted,"Brother Rat, I've learned it! Test me, come on!"
Brother Rat said,"Hammer!" Come over, I'll meet you at Xichong, the usual place!”
After saying that, he hung up. I carried five books and went to Xichong by car. Just like last time, he was still very late. The moment he saw me, he drank a bottle of water from me and asked me to follow him. I followed behind him and went to the teahouse again.
Unlike last time, we were sitting on the stage outside. He took the book and casually placed it on the table. He took out a cigarette and lit it." Whether you can be my disciple depends on this." If you don't pass, there won't be a next time!"
I nodded and he began to draw on the table with his hand dipped in tea. The entire eight-square table was filled with many patterns. He said,"Before the water runs dry, point out the best burial place here and you'll pass!"”
I didn't answer and started to look at the map. There was a river in the middle, surrounded by mountains on both sides. The sun was shining high in the sky. There was a small road between the mountains. There was a wheat field in the distance. There was a relay station on the other side of the mountain road. There was a well beside the relay station.
I looked at it for a while and slowly began to imagine such a picture in my mind. The burial place, the burial place... After about ten minutes, Brother Rat started to light a second cigarette." I'm sorry, you failed the exam!”
After saying that, I stood up and left. I cursed in my heart. Why did I have the same temper as my grandfather? I ran away when I couldn't reach an agreement. I said,"Wait, can I add something?"”
He was curious." You can try it!”
I said," The grave will be built on the mountainside near the wheat field, and it will be on the mountain far away from the wheat field. The back of the grave faces the water. I need eighty-one silver needles to be inserted into the back of the grave. It was by relying on these silver needles that the Qi of the mountain gathered on the grave. I don't know if there are any trees around the mountain. If there are no trees, I will plant seven locust trees myself and arrange them into the Big Dipper. This is to gather the Army Destroyer and Wenqu together. In this way, he could eat both fiendish qi and treasure qi. The advantage of this mountainside was that it was a barrier. People might not be able to see it, so the chances of theft were reduced!”
After Brother Rat heard this, he winked and didn't say anything for a long time. I started to get nervous. After a long time, he finally said,""I don't think this Seven Stars Upside Down Burial is written in any of the five books. How do you know?”
I said,"It seems to be roughly described in the Dragon Shaking Sutra. I summarized it myself!" Did I pass?"
He didn't answer me, he just said,"This…is better than my plan!" Sure, sure!"
I asked anxiously,"Did you pass?"”
Brother Rat glanced at me." It's over, it's over. Let's go and eat!”
I laughed." Wahaha, I knew I could pass.”
Brother Rat carefully looked around and glared at me."You're playing with Hammer. Let's go."
I said,"Ah, hotpot again?”
He glared at me again." My dear disciple, hotpot is delicious!”
It was still the same restaurant, the same hotpot filled with meat. This pot full of meat made me feel like I never wanted to smell meat again. In the end, Brother Rat spent all the beer on his own. When he went out, he burped happily and told me to stay away.
We hailed a cab and went back to the basement. He put the book away and sat on the old chair."Since you are my disciple, I will teach you something! Sichuan is a place of outstanding people. I can't control these people, but I can control the land spirit. You said that you were also a coffin lifter in Xinjiang, which I believe, but Sichuan is different from the mummies in the underground. The things in the coffins here are very good. Any few of them could easily get a few million yuan if they found the right buyer!”
I was secretly happy when I heard that. He might not know that Grandpa basically spent tens of millions. He continued,"But high returns mean high risks! I have a few words to tell you. First, don't do business with foreigners. Even if you do, you have to sell them at three times the price. Second, the emperor's grave was not to be dug up. Third, the items dug out must be sold immediately and not allowed to stay overnight. Fourth, I will never dig it myself!"
I was taken aback. How could there be such a rule? The first rule was understandable, but the second, third, and fourth rules were absolutely inconceivable. "Why?" I asked.
He said," The Emperor's grave has good things inside, and there are also a lot of damn things. I'm sure you've seen my piece of paper. It was dug up in the grave of a trash Emperor. So, I won't dig up the Emperor's grave!"”
"What about the third?"
He lit up a cigarette and started smoking." Many of the things dug out are gathered qi by feng shui. Once they see the sky, they will dissipate qi. This thing is quite fierce. If it is placed at home and destroys the feng shui of the house, it will be unlucky. So, we have to get rid of it as soon as possible. Didn't you see? I don't have any cultural relics here.”
I seemed to understand a little and asked,"Fourth, if you don't dig yourself, how do you know what's down there?”
He took a deep breath and said," Our line of work is different from others. We're grave-breaking people. There are people who specialize in digging. It's risky for us to go down there. As long as we don't go down and the people who dig can't see us, even if they are all caught, they can't catch us. We can still continue to do this!”
I took a deep breath. Oh my god, so the division of labor in this industry is so clear. "You don't need to worry about the buyer?" I asked.”
He stepped on the cigarette butt." Of course, we rely on our vision. If we see it, we guarantee that there's something down there. No matter how much we dig out, we won't lose money. Understand?”
I suddenly felt that this job was very easy to do. As long as you tell the people who want to dig for treasures that there are ancient tombs below, then they only need to look from afar and don't have to go down. Just as my imagination was running wild, Brother Rat said to me again,"Don't think of anything good! You don't have anyone you can trust. Even if you tell him, what can he do if he digs it out and takes it all away? Even if he didn't take any of them, the buyer wouldn't be able to settle it properly. These were trash. You have to know that if you don't sell things when they are exposed to the light, many things will be oxided, and then their value will drop. Why don't you take a look at the Chengdu Antique Market? There are so many real things, but you don't know how to take care of them. They're all worthless!"
I asked again,"Don't you feel itchy in your heart if you just watch and don't go down?"”
He curled his lips and said,"Mind your curiosity! Don't mess with the ball and die below. Your child will be happy!”
I felt that there was a story behind this, so I probed,""How is that possible? I don't believe that this ancient corpse can jump up and bite me?”
He looked at me contemptuously." The graves in Xinjiang are basically dry at the bottom, while the graves in Sichuan are basically damp at the bottom. If the layout is good, the moisture can't come out, and the purpose of gathering qi will be scattered. However, you have to understand that this is after all a thousand years of Qi. There are also mechanisms in this tomb. Although there aren't many, as long as there is one, it can take your life! You have to know that the so-called gathering of qi means that anything will gather in. If you go down and get gathered in, what will you do?”
I seemed to be beginning to understand. This gathering doesn't only mean that the qi between heaven and earth is gathered. Even people will gather in it, just like a black hole. This is also very similar to the style of the Pi Xiu, who will eat anything! But I still refused to admit it." Have you seen it before? Or have you been taught silly by the books?"
" It's a common mechanism," he said angrily." Quicksand, hidden crossbows, chain flip boards, rolling nail boards, and so on. But the latter few basically lose their effectiveness after a long time. Quicksand was not easy to destroy, but it was too expensive and very few people used it. But I was unlucky. In my natal year, I met such a damn grave and one of my brothers was buried alive. "Moreover, the coffin was smeared with poisonous snake water. My other brother accidentally cut his finger and lost his hands. Although he made a fortune, he lost a person and was crippled!”
I was shocked and asked,"What? Did these so-called traps really exist? It was understandable that the Dark Crossbow would fail, but what was a chain flip like? What about the rolling nail board?"
Brother Rat lit another cigarette and looked at the dark wall.""To be honest, I've never seen a chain flip. I think it's just an idea of the ancients. When entering the catacomb, there would be a thin board on the ground. In the middle was a stone beam that maintained balance. There were a total of three boards on the top, and stones were hung below to maintain balance. Once a person stepped on it, they would fall down and be killed by the bayonet below. Even if they were lucky enough not to die, the stones that maintained balance above would still kill them. That was why it was called a chain flip. However, I still feel that this is just an assumption. There was also a rolling nail board hanging from the ceiling. When the tomb door was opened, a mechanism would be triggered, and the rolling nail board would fall down. However, I've only heard of this before. I've never seen it before! The reason why it would fail was that after hundreds or thousands of years, even if the soil on the wood did not destroy it, the weight of the stone would destroy it. Therefore, this was not scientific. As for the rolling nail board, it was easy to understand. It was made of iron that had been maintained on the ceiling for hundreds of thousands of years. Not to mention how long it could last, it would rust to death even if it was maintained for 500 years. Therefore, the quicksand and accumulated stones would not change much even after thousands of years!”
I listened to him talk non-stop, and my understanding of the ancient tombs in Sichuan deepened bit by bit. It seemed that the main defense was not the mechanism, but the humidity. No wonder Grandpa and the others had to wear waterproof clothes and breathing masks no matter how hot it was. So that was the reason!
Just as I was about to ask again, there seemed to be some noise outside. Brother Rat turned off the lamp and we were in darkness. After a while, when the noise seemed to have died down, he turned on the lights again. Just as I was about to ask, he interrupted me," There are still a few books here. Take them back and read them. Just like last time, call me when you've finished reading them." Knowledge is power. Watch it!”
I thought that my learning career would end here. I didn't expect to continue watching. When he saw that I was unhappy, he said," Is that all you've got? Do you know that I'm still reading? Those five books are useless! If you didn't know the price of something you dug out, why would you sell it? Go back and look good!"
I had nothing to say. I took the book and was sent out. Standing outside, I was depressed. But fortunately, I had some understanding of the family business today!
On the way back to Nanchong, I looked at the book Brother Haozi gave me and picked the thickest one out. It was actually Appreciation of Ancient Jade. There was also the " Chronicles of the Ancient Dynasty ", followed by " Identification of Antiques ".
I looked at the " Chronicles of the Ancient Dynasty " and suddenly had a headache. The densely packed small characters were swaying in front of my eyes! However, I like to learn difficult things first, so I decided to read this book first. I spent a month reading this book from the moment I got off the bus. It was only then that I realized that the Southern Song Dynasty and the Northern Song Dynasty were two different dynasties, not one in the south and the other in the north. I also understood the relationship between the ancient kingdom of Xinjiang and the Tang Dynasty. This series of questions began to slowly become clear. I began to understand the circumstances under which the author of the Dragon Shaking Sutra wrote this book.
This month, I was a little crazy. I slept in class during the day and read books at night. I was so happy that I scored 60 points on the exam. I felt that I would pass. " Ancient Dynasty Chronicles " made me fall asleep countless times. I would continue reading it when I woke up, and I would take it out to read it in class from time to time. Just like that, my life turned upside down. My weight dropped from 68 kilograms to 57 kilograms. It felt like I had returned to the college entrance examination era. In fact, I had never risked my life like this during the college entrance examination. However, the chronicle of the development of China has finally become a system in my mind. In order to celebrate my deeper understanding of China, I found a good restaurant and ordered a few hard dishes as compensation for the past month.
However, the more depressing thing came. There were exams at the end of the semester. I had to put down these unfinished books and grab the textbooks that I rarely touched to begin a long revision.
He remembered that on the day of the exam, many people began to pack their luggage and plan to go home. I suddenly realized that I didn't want to go home. At the same time, I remembered that I hadn't heard from Grandpa and the others for a long time. I quickly found a public phone and started calling them. His grandfather's phone was connected, so he picked it up. "Grandpa! Grandpa!"”
The other end coughed." I heard you. I'm not deaf!"”
"Are you all right?" I asked.
Grandpa said,"I'm very well. I eat well and sleep well."”
I said a few random words and hung up after explaining my situation. He called Second Uncle again, but no one picked up. He called Little Uncle again, but Little Uncle picked up, looking very tired. "How are you?" I asked. He was released? Did you miss us?"
His uncle seemed to have not recovered from his shock and asked,"Who is it?"
I said,"Min-er! Haha, what's wrong with you? Did someone damage his brain in there?”
His uncle said," Oh, Min-er, I'm doing very well. It's quite comfortable inside. Your grandfather knows a few people inside. They give me good food and drinks." He was out now. How are you doing over there?"
I said excitedly,"Very good. Do you think I should go back this winter vacation?" When we go back, will you guys take me to dig a grave?”
His uncle was still groaning." Where are we going to dig in this world of ice and snow?" We never go out during winter and just rest at home. When are you coming back? Let's go drink!"
After the small talk, I felt an indescribable sense of comfort. As long as they live well, I'm happy! I didn't know if I should make the last call, but I still made it subconsciously. The call was quickly picked up. I said softly,"Sister Hua, how are you?"
"Very good!" Sis Hua said coldly. What about you?"
I said,"I…I'm fine too. You…I need to ask you something."”
"Ask," Sis Hua said.
I said,"Should I come back for the winter break?" I actually still want to stay here!”
I didn't dare to say the reason. I just wanted to know the answer. "You…if you don't want to come back, just stay there!" Sis Hua said. The environment there was good, and the winter was not cold.”
I agreed and unknowingly hung up the phone. I sat on the side of the road and thought, Who said that it's not cold in winter here? It's even colder here than in Xinjiang! It was cold outside in Xinjiang, but there was heating everywhere in the house. Other than humidity, it was cold, damp, and cold. I returned to my room and began to think about whether I should go home or stay here.
I struggled for a long time. To be honest, I missed them very much. I thought about the pure meat noodles, the unmarried sheep, and whether Grandpa and the others were okay. I wanted to know what had happened to my uncle. However, I was unwilling to go back. It wasn't easy for me to learn something, but now I had to go back. Would I forget it when I came back?
Forget it, I'm not going back! When I return, it will be the time for me to achieve something. I whispered in my heart, put out the cigarette, pulled the bedding roll, and returned to the hut.
I didn't go out for a few days, so I basically asked the small restaurant to send me food. The most ridiculous thing was that the landlady thought that I was going to take the postgraduate entrance examination or was out of love. She came up several times, either to put the cat in my room or to take one or two pears to see what I was doing inside.
I read the book very quickly. I learned what it meant to look, ask, smell, touch, and explore. This was also what Brother Rat concluded himself.
This " observation " was a macro one. It required the entire mountain range and the direction of the water flow to determine where the ancient people were most likely to bury the grave. After that, he would check the location and observe it according to the different Fengshui of different dynasties to see which dynasty it was from.
" Asking " meant entering villages of all sizes, looking for county annals or asking some old people to see if there were any legends here, and if there were any legends about gods and ghosts here in ancient times.
" Smelling " was more unique. He had to go to a well-explored place to dig up some soil and smell it to see if there was the smell of the ancients. Strangely enough, Brother Rat's notes mentioned that the soil of the ancient people had a subtle smell that was difficult to describe. However, that smell could only be found in the graves of the ancient people. This was the so-called smell.
" Touch " meant to pinch the soil. When one reached a rough estimate, they would touch the surrounding stones or the soil. Usually, they would only be able to see the difference when they were half a meter below the ground.
" Exploring " was very complicated. It was equivalent to determining which place must have an ancient tomb. One needed to know how deep it was and which era it was. Usually, one needed a Luoyang shovel. This Luoyang shovel was really a good thing. After the shovel went down, it shook left and right, and the soil below came up. Usually, the rammed earth layer was the key to determining the location. The appearance of the rammed earth layer meant that the thing below was reliable.
In less than half a month, Brother Rat and I met a few times. Every time, I had a lot of questions. He was also very patient, which made me feel a little embarrassed. I called Second Uncle and asked him about Brother Rat, but he kept his mouth shut. He just said that you can learn from him.
Just like that, I spent more time reading than sleeping. Every time I meet Brother Rat, he always wants to eat hotpot. I personally feel that he must have some deep hatred for hotpot. But it might also be because of the meat and beer. Every time I go back, I sleep especially well. I wake up early the next day and start reading.
I can't remember if I changed four or five batches of books. When I felt that I could name the representative objects of each dynasty, I had a long talk with Brother Rat. That conversation was in his underground tomb. We smoked so much that when we opened the cover, the smoke kept pouring out.
