For the past few days, the sea had been windy. The sky was dark. The clouds that were originally on the horizon were slowly moving and dispersing like snowflakes in the dark sky.

The bamboo canopy whistled as the sea breeze blew, as if it was about to be lifted.

Wen Xuan looked up at the window and understood that it was a sign of a storm. He poured a cup of tea and turned his head to look at the darkening sky. The cloud had already begun to seep out rain, and countless raindrops were falling on the hot and scorched land. The hissing sound seemed to come from every thirsty mouth and desperate heart.

The strong wind whistled past, as if it was brushing past one's scalp, causing the ceiling to crack. The torrential rain poured down, setting off a heavy curtain of rain in the world. A certain kind of heat that was wrapped in the air was pierced through and seeped into the skin, making people sweat.

Wen Xuan yawned and felt physically and mentally exhausted, so he planned to return to his room to rest.

At this moment, Yongnian, who was drenched, rushed in and pulled Wen Gui, who was also in a sorry state. He looked around the room with a serious expression, as if he was looking for something. As for Wen Gui, his face was pale and he was in a daze. He almost collapsed to the ground. It was as if they had brought the storm into the room, causing the room to be filled with steam and shrouded in shadows. He let go of Wen Gui's hand and rushed into Wen Xuan's room before running into another room. Wen Gui collapsed in the puddle of water under his feet and turned to look at the pouring rain outside the house.

The sea in the distance darkened. The waves crashed onto the beach, as if they had grown legs and were about to walk onto the beach.

"What happened?" Wen Xuan asked.

"Wait for me here. I'll get Aren back soon.”Yongnian came out of the room and said to Wengui.

"What happened?" Wen Xuan asked.

"Keep an eye on her. Don't let her run out.”Yongnian placed Wen Gui's hand on Wen Xuan's and let him hold it." Let her go when I'm back."”

With that, Yongnian turned around and rushed out of the bamboo shed, disappearing into the rain. Wen Gui squatted on the ground and turned to look outside the door, gritting his teeth. Her eyes were filled with tears.

"What is going on? Where did Aren go?" Wen Xuan asked.

"It might be at sea." Wen Gui said.

"What happened? In this weather, he still had to feed those dead shrimps and rotten crabs?”Wen Xuan asked.

Wen Gui shook his head and pursed his lips.""He knows. She had just returned and had a fight with Yongnian. She questioned him about those things and then ran out. He must have gone to the fish steak."

"Abu." Wen Xuan said.

"He said so. He wanted to use this to force Aren to go to the Ying Country with him.”Wen Gui said," What should we do now? The wind was blowing on the sea. How could Aren avoid such danger?”

Wen Xuan lowered his head and squeezed Wen Gui's hand tightly, saying,""It's okay. The wind hasn't picked up yet.”

The strong wind blew past and blew down the guardrail in front of the courtyard.

"Aren." Wen Gui screamed and said," What should we do? The wind is blowing."

"I'm fine. This bit of wind was nothing. I've been to the sea before, believe me.”Wen Xuan stretched out his other hand and patted Wen Gui's wrist.

"No, I can't. I have to go and take a look." Wen Gui said. She stood up and turned towards the door.

"What are you going to do? It's windy and rainy outside. It's not suitable for you. You can stay here. Let Liu Yongnian handle those things, Xiao Gui.”Wen Xuan said as he held Wen Gui's hand tightly.

Wen Gui reached out and tried to pry Wen Xuan's hand away, saying,""Let go of me, let me take a look."

"That's the sea. You don't have to go to a woman's house. Stay here. Let Liu Yongnian do it." Wen Xuan said.

"No, I can't. I really couldn't hold it in any longer. I'm going to get Aren back. My child is now at sea, like an orphan with no one to rely on. Brother, let go of me and let me out.”Wen Gui said. She tugged at her hand, hoping to break free from Wen Xuan's grip. She gritted her teeth and pulled back forcefully. Wen Xuan was pulled out of the wheelchair by her and fell to the ground. The cup on the edge of the table fell to the ground and shattered.

Wen Gui turned around and looked at Wen Xuan who was still holding his hand on the ground. He said,""Let me go. I'm going to find my child."

Wen Xuan raised his head and glanced at the broken porcelain pieces beside him. He let go of one hand and touched a piece of broken porcelain with a trembling hand. His hand had been cut by the sharp tip and was bleeding. He pressed the porcelain piece under his neck and looked at Wen Gui with a smile, as if he was unafraid of death. His hand was dripping with blood, giving people the illusion that his throat had been cut.

"Brother, what are you doing?" Wen Gui asked.

"How embarrassing. Now that I'm crippled, I'm useless. I can only rely on your original skills to do things.”Wen Xuan licked his bleeding lips and said," Don't go, Xiao Gui. At least not now. As long as anyone else is not here, I will treat them as dead. Only you, sister. I only have you. So, I beg you, don't leave this place. It's not a place you should go with such a heavy storm outside. Stay here. Stay by your brother's side."

Wen Gui began to cry. His shoulders were trembling and he could barely stand.

"Why? Why are you doing this?" Wen Gui said," Alan went to the sea. He must have gone to the sea. Just let me go, brother."

"Stay. Accompany me. For so many years, I have been alone, lonely and lonely.”Wen Xuan said.

"You deserved it. How many times have I told you to start a family and have children? Who can you blame?" Wen Gui said.

"I can't do those things." Wen Xuan said.

"You asked for it. Why does everyone do it, but you can't? His parents had been through the same thing.”Wen Gui pulled his hand and said," Let me go find him." Please. I can't just stand here.”

Wen Xuan tightened his grip on her hand and pressed the porcelain piece deeper. He said,""I'm already old and crippled. There's no point in staying in this world. If you want to leave, then leave. Once this door is out, I'll cut it down. Anyway, there's nothing left to miss."

Wen Xuan let go of Wen Gui's hand and looked at her.

"Big brother." Wen Gui shook his head and said," You don't have your own child, so how would you understand?”

"I have my own child. And it's not just the child. It's all I have. When I came back from outside, I was just like a wandering ghost as you said. Actually, at that time, I had already been shattered into pieces and was not even recognizable. It was that child who picked me up piece by piece and pieced me back together.”Wen Xuan said.

"What a self-righteous idiot! That is your own fault." Wen Gui said," Right now, you're stalling me. You want me to be like you. Those are my things. I won't let him off either. Aren is mine."

Wen Gui turned around and stared at Wen Xuan, tears streaming down her face as she said," I shouldn't have let him follow you in the first place. He shouldn't have gone into the sea. Why does our family have to be submerged in the sea? Did he have to go against the sea? Can't you live without it?"

"That is the bloodline. Sister, that is the bloodline." Wen Xuan said," Have you forgotten? What kind of father did Liu Yongnian have?”

Wen Gui gritted his teeth and silently cried. Her face was covered in tears.

"That's him. I told you not to follow Liu Yongnian. But you didn't listen. He was not a good husband and father.”Wen Xuan said," All of this was ruined by that idiot Liu Yongnian.”

"That's not it. Don't say anymore. No, it's not." Wen Gui shouted. She burst into tears. The thing stuck in his throat was desperately trying to break free.

"Xiao Gui, Xiao Gui." Wen Xuan called out in a low voice, just like how his mother had called out to his little daughter by the bedside back then.

Wen Gui shook his head and screamed as he watched his tears drip onto the ground.

"Xiao Gui, Xiao Gui." Wen Xuan became even gentler. He reached out and patted his sister's head as he said in a low voice.

"Mommy." Wen Gui called out in a low voice and stopped crying. She suddenly raised her head and turned to look out the window.

A long river seemed to have gathered in the dark sky, pouring down like a waterfall.

At this moment, Abu rushed in from the water curtain, scattering water vapor. He looked at the two people on the ground in shock.

When Wen Gui saw his son, he stood up. Her face changed, almost twisting. She walked forward and slapped Abu's face, glaring at him.

Abu turned his head and looked at Wen Xuan who was lying on the ground. He gritted his teeth. The burning sensation on her face returned.

"Abu, have you seen your brother?”Wen Xuan crawled over and touched Abu's pants.

"What have you done, great doctor?”Wen Gui said.

"Abu, have you seen Aren?”Wen Xuan tugged at his trousers and winked at her.

"He just returned to the clinic." Abu stared into Wen Xuan's eyes and said while holding back his tears.

"Where is he? Is he there?" Wengui went up and held Abu's hand tightly.

Abu's head was still lowered as he looked at the blood seeping out of Wen Xuan's hand.""Yes. It's here."

"How could I forget? He'll go find big brother." Wen Gui smiled and said," Quick, I want to see him."”

"He wants to be alone." Abu lowered his head and said.

"Is that so?" Wen Gui lowered his head and shook his head." Is he really there?”

Wen Xuan tugged at Abu's wet pants and looked up at him.

Abu turned around and looked at Wen Gui, saying,""He's right there. I just want to be alone."

"Then let him be alone. Then let him be alone for a while." Wen Gui said," But your father is still in the sea.”

"Don't worry about him. Wengui, sit down first." Wen Xuan said.

Wen Gui turned back to look at Wen Xuan, his gaze drifting hesitantly across his face as if he was thinking about something.

"He's there. He was there. That's great. Aren is there." Wen Gui said.

"Abu, where are those medicines?" Wen Xuan looked at Abu and raised his chin towards the kitchen." Go inside and pour a glass of water for your mother." She had been worried all night and it was time to rest.”

Abu nodded and ran into the kitchen.

Wen Gui looked at Abu and started to speak in a low voice. She turned her face sideways and looked at the rain outside the window as she began to mutter to herself.

"He went to the sea? Or at the clinic?" Wen Gui asked himself in a low voice.

"Mom, drink something hot.”Abu handed him a glass of water and said," He's at the clinic. Just stay there for a while."

Wen Gui raised his head and looked at Abu hesitantly before taking the glass of water.

"You should sit down. Don't just stand there, Xiao Gui.”Wen Xuan said.

Abu held Wengui's hand and made her sit down. When he bent over, he could still hear Wen Gui whispering as if she was asking him a question. He glanced at the water in Wen Gui's hand and gently lifted it up for her to drink.

Wen Xuan kept his head up and looked on silently.

"Mom, go back to your room and rest for a while. I'll go back later." Abu said.

Wen Gui put down the cup, looked up at Wen Xuan, and nodded slowly. However, she continued to mutter to herself. Then, she went back to her room with Abu's help.

Wen Xuan sighed and threw away the blood-stained porcelain piece. He propped himself up, climbed back into the wheelchair, and turned to look at the heavy rain outside the window. The rain had drenched the entire porch, and the wind carried it through the window.

Wen Gui's whisper was still coming from the room. She seemed to be suspecting something, but she kept overturning her own deduction. After a while, the sound weakened and the place became quiet. Not long after, Abu walked out and squatted beside Wen Xuan.

"Are you asleep?" Wen Xuan asked.

"She's asleep." Abu said.

"Drugged?" Wen Xuan asked.

"It just so happens to be in my pocket." Abu said.

"Aren isn't with you." Wen Xuan said.

"Not here." Abu said.

Wen Xuan stared at the broken porcelain pieces on the ground and felt those cold and hard sharp horns suddenly pierce straight into his eyes.

"Go, child. You can go now. Be careful." Wen Xuan said.

Abu stood up, turned around to look at the room, and left.

The bamboo canopy suddenly fell silent. The pitter-patter of the rain instantly became clear, as if it was directly hitting the top of his head. A gust of cold wind blew through the hall, blowing away the only warmth in the room.

Wen Xuan looked back at the pot of cold tea on the table and rubbed his eyes.

The tiny silver snakes passed through the night sky, and a rumbling sound came.

The storm did not seem to subside.

Wen Xuan lifted his head, slid his wheelchair, and came to the door to look outside.

The flowers in the garden swayed in the wind, as if they were about to be blown up by the sea breeze. The petals had already spread out and were blown far away.

The dark clouds covered the night sky, and the silver snake pierced through it, spitting out its fangs.

The beach became narrow and shallow. Countless black snakes rolled their bodies in the sea and surged toward the beach, spitting out black liquid and hissing. They rolled their bodies and pushed the three boats toward the beach. The boat was on top of them, swaying left and right, almost flipping over. They surrounded the ship, biting and shouting at each other. He spat out venom from his mouth, and blood seeped out of his wound.

The two boats were pushed ashore, and two people got off each. They walked back into the rolling waves, stepping on the struggling snakes. The third boat was still swaying in the wind and rain, almost falling apart. A person came out and stood on the bow of the boat. His white beard was like a sudden snowflake. He handed a stack of things to a man under the boat, glanced at the shore, and then went back into the boat.

Wen Xuan slid his wheelchair and came to the porch that was covered in wind and rain. He turned on the door light. He went down the porch in the rain. The swaying rose branches kept hitting his body, making popping sounds. Bean-sized raindrops kept hitting his body, and he was soon drenched. The rain hit his face directly, almost making him unable to open his eyes. He wiped his face and opened his mouth to spit out the rainwater that poured into his mouth. Then, he saw Abu standing by the rolling waves. The little snakes intertwined with each other and hissed. They touched Abu's body and spat out venom. Liu Yongnian carried Aren and stepped on the black monsters to the silver beach.

"Put him down, Liu Yongnian." Wen Xuan shouted.

"Where's Xiaogui?" Yongnian asked.

"She's asleep." Wen Xuan said.

Abu began to run towards the shore, wanting to catch up with Yongnian, but he fell. The black snake coiled around him, tighter and tighter, almost suffocating him. He struggled with all his might, reached out his hand in the waves, and climbed up.

"Daddy." Abu called out. He climbed onto the beach and ran to Yongnian's side, following him with his head lowered.

"You can go now. There's no one here to keep you." Yongnian said.

Wen Xuan heard their words and quickly slid his wheelchair over.

Yongnian ignored Wen Xuan who had come up. He carried the body that was about to fall and walked straight into the forest. The trees were trembling in the wind and rain, twisting their branches and leaves, screaming in fear.

Abu stood stiffly, staring at a certain spot. In his eyes, that person disappeared into the dark forest.

"Abu." Wen Xuan said.

Abu raised his head and saw Wen Xuan. He threw himself into his arms and burst into tears.

"I'm like a dog. I'm just a dog." Abu cried and shouted," I'm just a dog. I am a dog. Uncle, I'm just a dog."

He repeated it over and over again, as if he wanted to exhaust himself in this way. The voice came from his lungs and swelled up, like a giant beast that had been suppressed for a long time trying to break free from his body. His entire body trembled as he pressed heavily on Wen Xuan's body, treating him as his only support.

Wen Xuan caressed his head over and over again, as if he was a newborn, letting him cry in his arms.

The wind gradually weakened. The rain had also thinned.

The surging black snakes were still hissing, intertwining, and pouncing on the beach.
