Smirre did not have any thoughts about the ammunition, but he took an energy block and put it in his pocket.
He was going to study it for Howard when he got back.
Smirre remembered that the so-called super soldier serum was just a chemical solution. After 70 years of research, he still could not figure out what it was. Smirre suspected that the reason why it could not be replicated was that the super soldier serum contained the energy of the Tesseract.
After all, the color of the energy block was too similar to the color of the super soldier serum.
Looking at Steve's back, Smirre quickly followed. He was still very interested in the Tesseract.
Steve didn't know that the factory wasn't just a Hydra base, but also the current headquarters of John Schmidt.
Schmidt was watching Steve's every move on the CCTV. Schmidt heard an explosion outside and turned to look at another monitor. He saw four prisoners blasting a big hole in the wall.
Then the alarm rang and the guards rushed in. Schmidt went back to looking at Steve. He watched him beat down dozens of guards with punches and kicks as he got closer and closer to his office. This was a shocking and annoying scene.
" Doctor." Schmidt turned to talk to his top scientist. "Prepare to evacuate."
Dr. Zola nervously glanced at the CCTV that switched between the inside and outside of the factory. " I believe our army can handle it…"
"Our army has been defeated." Schmidt roared.
"By a person." he added.
Schmidt looked at the dashboard and pressed a switch. A countdown clock lit up. Then he crept out of the office and down the long corridor.
Obviously, this switch was the switch to self-destruct.
Steve had just walked into the corridor when he saw Dr. Zola exit the office and close the laboratory door. Steve did not know who it was, but seeing how Dr. Zola kept glancing back at the door, he knew without a doubt that there must be something important there. After Jola left, Steve sneaked into the laboratory and closed the door.
Smirre looked at Steve and Dr. Jola, not knowing who to go with. He thought for a while and decided to go with Jola. Schmidt, or the red skeleton, had the Tesseract that he wanted.
Before she could take two steps, Steve pressed her shoulder down. Steve said,""Don't run around. It's very dangerous here. Follow me!”
Smirre looked at Steve speechlessly. With his current strength, he could grab Steve's hammer. Why would he need to follow you?
However, even with this delay, Dr. Zola had completely disappeared. Smirre had no choice but to follow Steve into the laboratory.
The laboratory was filled with documents and files. There were all kinds of specimen bottles on the shelves.
The monitor beeped. In the middle of the laboratory was a huge iron cage connected to a rusty drain pipe.
Steve saw the back of a man in the cage. He was lying on the ground.
Hearing Steve's footsteps, the man spoke in a hoarse voice.
"Baines. Sergeant James Baines." Steve said in surprise when he heard the hoarse but familiar voice.
The man was silent for a moment. Who are you?"
Steve rushed over and squatted down beside the cage. The person inside was Baki! Although he was injured and his hair was gray, he was still alive. Steve smashed the lock with his fist and reached into the cage. He said excitedly,""It's me, Baki."
"Steve?" Baki said as he carefully observed his friend's new appearance.
"I thought you were dead." Steve said.
"I thought you were shorter than me." Baki replied, and with Steve's help, he stood up and walked out of the cage.
The two of them stood face to face, and Baki looked at Steve in disbelief. This was not the Steve he knew. Steve was taller, faster, and stronger than the skinny boy from Brighton who had grown up with him.
And now it was Steve's turn to save him. This was really a reversal of fortune.
"Alright, I know that you two have a deep relationship. Now, we should prepare to escape.”Smirre could not help but interrupt when he saw the two of them looking at each other affectionately.
"You're the little guy from the Future World Exposition. Were you also captured by the nazis?”Baki looked at Smirre in surprise and asked.
Before Smirre could answer, an explosion shook the laboratory.
Steve took Bitch out of the lab with one arm around his back. However, he saw a map on the wall from the corner of his eye. He stopped in his tracks and saw that the European section of the map was filled with Hydra symbols.
He memorized it and rushed back to Baki's side when another explosion began. He greeted Smirre,""Smirre, we have to leave this place quickly!”
The surrounding bombs exploded one after another, shaking the foundation of the factory. It became very difficult to escape quickly. Baki kept asking him questions as he retreated along the corridor. He guessed that Steve must have done some treatment or experiment. It was impossible for him to become like this naturally.
