The Buttered Cat Theory combined two common knowledge into one. The content was: (1) Cats jump down from midair and always land on their feet. (2)According to Murphy's Law (if there is a possibility that something will go wrong, no matter how small the possibility is, it will happen), if a piece of buttered bread is thrown into the air, it will always be buttered. The side of the butter fell to the ground. The irony was that the buttered toast was stuck to the cat's back, so that the cat would jump from midair. According to these two laws, cats could never land on their feet because buttered toast would always land on the buttered side. Similarly, buttered toast cannot land on the buttered side because cats always land on their feet.
