Eighth floor, principal's office.

It was a large, bright, round room. The walls were filled with portraits of people. These portraits had their eyes closed, but from the way they opened their eyes from time to time, it was clear that they were just pretending to rest.

On a high bench behind the desk was a tattered hat. If Aylwin was there, he would have recognized it as the Sorting Hat.

Snape and Dumbledore sat opposite each other.

"So, Severus, would you like something to drink, or some afternoon dessert?”

"Lemon Snow Treasure Candy? Taffy finger cake? Or some cockroaches?"

Snape frowned and refused decisively.

"No need, Headmaster Dumbledore, I'm here to talk to you about Aylwin Gaunt.”

Dumbledore looked a little regretful when he heard Snape's refusal, but when he heard what Snape said, he no longer hesitated.

He put down the book in his hand, crossed his fingers, and placed it on the table. His expression became serious.

"Then Severus, can you tell me your evaluation of Aylwin Gaunt?”

Snape stated calmly,"Calm, decisive, gifted, and with a clear purpose."”

"And a playboy." Snape added at last.

"Oh?" Dumbledore pushed up his glasses and a flash of light appeared.

Dumbledore had not expected to hear such high praise from Snape.

If Dumbledore had understood correctly, Snape had made a lame joke at the end.

Now Dumbledore was even more interested in Aylwin.

"I thought you would have some subjective prejudice against Mr. Gaunt regarding the sorting ceremony. I didn't expect you to have such a high opinion of him.”

"Yes, Dumbledore, that's what I think of him. I have a lot of things to do, and I don't want to waste my time on a first year wizard.”Snape added, ignoring Dumbledore's teasing.

"Though he has a special last name, his personality does not allow him to be the next Dark Lord. No Dark Lord has found himself a little girlfriend on his first day at school and tried to flirt with another Gryffindor.”

Dumbledore couldn't help but laugh again.

"No, Severus, I think you've misunderstood me. My concern for Mr. Gaunt is indeed because his surname is slightly special.”

"You know, his last name is bound to cause him some trouble, Voldemort will come back eventually. In some black magic, bloodlines were often used.”

"Tom's research in this area is something that even I have to praise.”

Dumbledore explained the reason, and seeing that Snape had no intention of commenting, he continued.

"Actually, I did some research on Mr. Gaunt during the summer vacation.”

At this point, Dumbledore winked at Snape mischievously.

Snape's face darkened at this. Are you crazy? If you're going down personally, what's the point of my observation today?

He did not expect the greatest light Magus of the 20th century to pay so much attention to a teenage boy.

Thinking of this, Snape felt that it was necessary to get to know the Headmaster of Hogwarts again.

Dumbledore continued, as though he had not noticed the change in Snape's expression.

"I've been to the orphanage where Mr. Gaunt lived. The people there spoke highly of him. Every year, Mr. Gaunt would donate a large sum of money for the expenses of the orphanage.”

"Most importantly, he has a phoenix. The phoenix can greatly dispel the darkness in people's hearts and give them great courage.”

"So he's different from Tom. I asked you to observe him because I think you can provide him with some help to help him grow faster. This way, he would be able to better face the dangers that would happen in the future.”

When Snape heard this, it was as if he had eaten a dead fly. Asking a Slytherin dean to teach a student who had rejected Slytherin was not that disgusting.

Snape hesitated, however, as he recalled their conversation in the Potions classroom.

said Dumbledore, as if he had seen through Snape's thoughts.

"Of course, Filius told me yesterday about Mr. Gaunt's talent in Charms, and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to make a good wizard for Ravenclaw.”

"No need!" Snape interrupted Dumbledore

"He is also the last Slytherin descendant in England. As the dean of Slytherin, I have the obligation to provide some preferential treatment to the descendants of the founder.

I'll speak to Mr. Gaunt."

With that, Snape stood up and walked out of the door, ending the conversation.

Dumbledore muttered to himself as he watched Snape leave, the corners of his mouth curling up.

"Looks like we've got another interesting kid at Hogwarts who's making Snape so interested in him.”

At this moment, the headmasters on the wall no longer pretended to be dead. One of the portraits spoke, looking very angry.

"As a descendant of Slytherin, choosing Ravenclaw is a disgrace to pureblood!”

"Headmaster Black, Mr. Gaunt isn't pure blood. According to the investigation, his mother is of Gaunt blood, and his father is just an ordinary Muggle.”

Dumbledore chuckled as he explained.

Hearing this, Principal Blake became even angrier. He kept saying some words that began with F.

The other hot-tempered principal couldn't stand it anymore. He rushed into Blake's portrait and punched him, knocking him to the ground.

The two of them immediately started a chaotic battle. Dumbledore didn't care. The other portraits watched this scene and cheered loudly for the hot-tempered headmaster. There were even two headmasters who were eager to join.

It seemed that Principal Blake was not very popular.

Dumbledore, on the other hand, seemed oblivious to what had happened before the portraits of the headmasters. His deep eyes flickered as if he were calculating something.
